Hope it helps, although I am sure everyone will have their opinions
It does help, thx !
What we wanted to do was selling the Abarth anyway, but either selling the 997 with it and buy a very nice car, or replace the Abarth only with something cheaper, so that we can replace the 997 later with something a bit better (a 997.2 ?).
Argh it's not easy !
Any thoughts on a used RS6 ?
Devestating straight-line performance, but if you value dynamic qualities I'd steer clear of that one...

A low-mileage Audi b7 RS4 and keep the rest of your cash? I'm sure it'll be at least as good as the b8 RS4 for half the price.
You're probably right, but it won't be the latest model, and it will quickly look old...
How about an RS5 then...?
Aviator:
OK, I know this is not helpful and it does not answer your question but ..
I would just drive the 997.
Everywhere.
This.
My plan for the future is to buy a fairly high mileage 997 with around 80k-100k on the odometer. At this point the car has already lost most of its value and depreciation is leveling off. Now buy such a car through a reputable dealer with a factory warranty and keep the car until you have driven it another 50-60k then swap again. This way you will maybe lose 20k Euros. That's the same amount you would lose if you were to buy a fairly specced 3 series (new) and sell it again after the same time.

Good point ! I'm even surprised the RS5 did not pop up earlier
It is indeed meeting all the requirements, except from one... my girlfriend does not like it
Ok so what does she like... The Gran Turismo S, the RS6, the 997.2, the RS4 seems to be OK...
What is the mileage on your 997 right now? IS it really important for the resale? I ask this because a car 997 that is 5 years old already depreciated with a refreshing 997.2 (which in my opinion is a hell of a more car than 997. There is a big change there not cosmetics) and a whole new 991. At least that is In my country, it does not matter if it is in immaculate condition or low mileage. It would make a small difference in price and only thing that would help would be preference wise if same cars are considered by the new buyer. 997s were produced massively. I think this effects you more being in EU because the prices are realtively cheap because of acceptable taxes.
I would either ditch the 997 and the Abarth or drive 997 everyday. I do not think a 997 is a collectors car. Just drive it before you lose more value. It is totally daily drivable.

Do you reckon it's worth making the switch from 997.1 to 997.2? I have no experience comparing both, but I don't think I'd bother making that switch.

The A7's back looks soooo sad...
Glass Houses
The back is what the panny SHOULD have been like I said the best on the market for everyday now imo since the original CLS
Very nice, in a related way I just saw an AM rapide on the highway, not 230 K better than that ^
Without a hint of hesitation I would recommend the BMW 1M, probably the best new car on sale available today, the combination of performance, fun, involvement, size, practicality, chassis, bang for your buck is unrivalled.
Even BMW underestimates how good this car is, seriously.
I am not sure of European pricing but i would assume that the F10 BMW M5 would fit this pricing (it would in the states after converting the Euro to $$).
Personally, I could not go from 911 to any Audi from a fun perspective. Nothing against Audi's they are great car's but not a 'fun' car IMHO (I had a S5 in South Africa for two years). the M5 is fun. The E60 is an awesome car but not traction and horrible gas mileage. I think the F10 could pass in both categories.
BangoO:
New M5 is 117k€ without any option, far too expensive !
Futch, I hear the 1M is a very good car, but it's a too much on the outside, not classy at all...
What about a 997.1 Turbo ?
RC had a Turbo he can help you. I'd get one in manual, they are some good deals around.
And you can nicely tune it.
BangoO:What about a 997.1 Turbo ?
I owned a 997.1 Turbo manual. Great everyday all-year round car with excellent performance.
...and yes, it is very easily tuned if you require more performance

I did not get much feedback on the RS6... any more comments ?
I've had mine (sedan) for 3 years already and the only car in this class that can get me out of it is the Panamera Turbo S (maybe the facelift will do). Except the steering, I love everything about it and it's not just the straight line performance. Last week we went with my wife to a ski resort with a very twisty road and even my wife who is used to a very sporty driving with the 997TT exclaimed that "this car is unbelievable".....If someone likes to go sideways then for him this car will be boring. But if you want a very safe and versatile high performance sedan the RS6 is one of the very few options.
It is also a reliable car - I've been following the RS forums and also have a couple of crazy friends with the MTM 730hp tuning and the feedback is very good in terms of reliability.
And lastly - there have been around 1800 RS6 C6 sedans produced so it will remain quite rare.
