    SciFrog:

The FF is 4 inches shorter and one inch lower. Width is the same.

So the argument about the Panamera being too big does not work

    4 inches is not small...

Yes  ever tried to sit in an FF  4 inches does make a difference

Let's face it the 4 seat in an FF or a turbo are useless

    Panamera is much more sensible

In the US they can get rid of them ,the reason they force people to buy one in order to sell you something else

Completely disagree. The FF (and 612) rear seats are sized for adults. The California seats are for kids (trust me, I own both)...

The FF sales are bad because 1) the rear design is strange 2) the 4 seater V12 Ferraris never sold in huge numbers 3) they are very expensive car 4) a redesign will come out soon 5) they depreciate faster than other Ferraris

You last argument could be valid for some people, but at least in my case it doesn't apply as I am inside the door already. I choose the FF after I bought something else at MSRP. But it also gets me 1st dip at the Speciale Spyder, now I gets the 1st one.

Panamera could be the alternative, but the FF spots it with an extra 4 cylinders and an extra 100HP, I have been hanging out here with RC way too much so I have become another HP junkie Smiley Also, read my thought process a few posts up about the current Porsche interior. Then another few posts up about my worries on Porsche's quality issues.

When is the last time you sat in your own sedan's back seat? For me never, so being the selfish bastard that I am, a roomy backseat is useless, they just need to be big enough for my 2 boys and the FF will be fine for a few years.

    Nick,

You may also consider TDF exterior over chiccolate alcantara with blue 3D fabric. Chiccolate will contrast and show carbon interior much better than black and it will contrast nicely with blue stitching and blue exterior color. Also don't forget to get alcantara tunnel this time around which is an inexpensive option but it increases the interior quality of the specialle dramatically.

You have a beautiful garage in a beautiful country; very lucky of you Smiley

Mixing blue and chiccolate never crossed my mind initially, I will have a look at that combination.

Thanks, I am just lucky to live in a place where cars are relatively cheap, not as cheap as the US but close.

I would have choose FF everytime over Panamera if I have the needed financial source; there is no contest here, IMO. If I need a 4 door sedan, I would buy a Bentley; I wouldn't buy a sporty 4-door.

After reading 10 pages of this thread yesterday, I did go to Porsche web site and configure a GT silver 918 with red leather interior, carbon pack. And magnesium wheels. It would be awesome to own one but it is out of my price league evenif it is the cheapest hybrid supersport.

Believe it or not, the FF drives smaller than the dimension indicated but the Panamera remains the same size at speed.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

The 612 is the same. You totally forget there are backseats. Don't know how they do it... I was also very disappointed with Panamera driving feel. Sterile, bland, no emotion and sensation of how fast you are going. Fast maybe, but I never drive more than 75mph... The Macan for 40% less drives pretty much the same...

The Bentley is for much older people IMHO, especially in four door. They are not sporty enough and pretty heavy. I would much rather have a Rapide or a Quatroporte...

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

For driving experience FF wins over Panamera Turbo, hands down.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

I would look at a Rapide as well. I think more than half the time I see one I think it's one of the coupes before I realize it's the four door.

Blue and brown do look fantastic together. http://shar.es/LsQHX take a look at this FF Blue Pozzi with Testa di Moro leather (and some blue highlights thrown in). I think this is spectacular.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

    Any first hand comparison Rapide/FF?

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

FF rear seating is far superior to Rapide's.  As far as driving dynamics, I find the FF powerful but not nimble.  More linear in its driving feel, much like my old Daytona.

The PanameraTurbo (S) and FF are entirely different cars, in different price brackets and with different appeal and customer base.  If I wanted to spend in the dollar range of the FF, I would certainly choose it over the Panamera Turbo models--but not over the F12.

Overall, having different exotic cars in your garage is a much envied and satisfying privilege.  Buy and enjoy what suits your personal taste.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

Rapide did crosses the mind a little as I had a test drive last Wednesday.

Dimension wise it is also similar, it drives longer than it is, not bigger. Not overtly exciting but not as dull as a Panny.

Even with the rear doors, access to the back seat is still easier on the FF than the Aston.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

Whoopsy, buy the FF used! I don't know about Canada, but in the US you can get a barely used 2014 for $80-100K off MSRP. Yes a 2014 in 2014! Hell, if you can't find the perfect exterior, just find the perfect interior and get a perfect, better paint job for $20K.

FF is one of the worst depreciating cars in recent memory. Even worse than the 12C.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

noone1 Those are insane prices no no FF have big depreciation in Europe, but not so insane!

Buy It Now $80K under MSRP and been listed a while. Plenty of 2012/2013 cars with nice specs and low miles at $200-220K asking prices.

I think you'd have to be crazy to buy a new one. No matter what you pay, that car is going to be worth about $200K within 2 years, maybe even worse if new version comes out looking a lot better.

Great car, so I've heard, but no one wants a weird looking AWD, hatchback Ferrari. Buy a used 458 or F12, then take the extra $150K a buy a high-spec new S-class for when you need some space, luxury, and power.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

Well, their Sept production has been changed to my spec, but I haven't pay the deposit yet. To be honest I am still on the fence about buy a FF new, as there is a 2013 untitled car I can have with a bit of discount and a used F12 with about 2000km sitting in the showroom begging to be bought.

FF is a rare car in Canada, they don't really come back on the market much. 5 dealers each selling maybe 4-5 a year. I thin most owners knew the depreciation and never trade in their cars to take the hit.

The American cars are very tempting, but there are endless hoops to jump through to import one here, if it was any easier, no Canadian dealer will sell a single one.

Cars in USA are almost dirt cheap by comparison.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

Didn't you say your sibling lives in the US? Just buy it under their name and keep it in Canada? While perhaps technically illegal, it would probably be way too difficult to prove you are doing something illegal, especially since it's owned and registered to a close relative. US insurance is valid in Canada and it's not at all uncommon to see US plates in Canada.

"Me and my family are constantly traveling and have cars in both countries."

I'd say it's worth the massive savings.

Re: 918 latest news Thread Closed

Yes I have 2 sisters living in LA, but they are Porsche diehards, they will never help with a Ferrari................

Agreed. Talking to the Toronto dealers, the FF despite being the perfect Canada Ferrari doesn't sell. I would buy the untitled car and the F12 all day long. Or just say to hell with it and get the 599 GTO that Ferrari Vancouver has for sale.Smiley
