Any updated numbers on how many have been sold?
There won't be hard numbers, best estimate is they are down to the last 200.
Right now all new orders will be a Dec-Jan build slot and later. Taking away the August holiday that leaves about 30 weeks worth of production, they will make 4 a day so 20 cars a week, so that's about 600 cars already scheduled.
We also know Porsche built the special buyers cars first out of sequence, one source told me that number is about 100. Those orders were finished around mid March and the actual production for regular customers starts after.
So when I was at the factory, #35 was just finished, #42 should be done by last Friday and adding the 100 before and 10 this week that means about 120-130 orders, taking into account some of the special ones could be within the initial 50 sequence numbers.
Roughly 720-740 cars sold then?
Close enough for you?

I am incredibly pissed at Porsche today.
Just hung up the phone with them, being notified that my car will be delayed a month.
At least they are being very honest about the why, but since it's not public knowledge yet I don't think I will post what happened.
Maybe I will chalk it up as my run of bad luck.
Kind of a mood killer the day before I leave for Phoenix with a bunch of friends for a week long golf trip.

I never understood people "overselling" - but rather give customers a timeline which you can beat - hence create a positive experience once you tell them yr car will be "early" or for that matter anything else too. I have seen this many times where people make promises (not only cars) and then have to disappoint - where are the times when people played "low profile" and then exceeded the expecations ? If you buy something for a million bucks I want positive news. simple ! (still a great car to wait for 
)

Thanks for the update. If they don't sell them all do you believe it will have an impact on resale value like it did with the CGT? I believe Porsche subsidized several CGT in Europe to meet their production goal and help stabilize resale values.

Never know until see prices. But yes would consider. I have a deposit on a 960 and a value comparison needs to be made.
I can't imagine any scenario in which the 960 wouldn't be a better deal, unless they really change the plans in some unfortunate way. My guess is the 960 will be gasoline-only twin-turbo Flat-8 based on the 9A1 block with 600-700hp, AWD, and cost less than $300k. Seems like much more than 1/3 the car than the 918 is.

Hope you are right. Was at the dealer today and in the past they were skeptical about the 960 but they now are fairly confident it will happen. I think we are looking at the earliest 2017 model announced 2016.
