As much as I am a supporter of the marque, this is just silly.
I never liked buying the first cars of the line when it's a brand new model.
Hate it when manufacturers take clients for guinea pigs!

Why do some car-manufacturers focus so little on "heat-shielding" ? I mean isn't it obvious that the engine,headers and exhaust-tubes are getting very hot and will put fire on things around them that is burnable ? Or are they all leaking oil ? I don't get this...

That surprises me as well... if it is your first high-performance car, you can imagine one or two cars burning before you get the message as a manufacturer, but from manufacturers like ferrari and lamborghini... they should know better by now, shouldn't they?

I remember, if I'm not wrong, that Porsche had some fire/heat shielding issues with their 928 and later on with the 911 too. However, I haven't heard of any related incidents in the past couple of years, so maybe Porsche put a lid on it.
Take the 997 Turbo for example...VTG chargers...extreme heat but never really heard of a fire of undamaged cars.
I also get the feeling that many owners of super cars, especially those who are low, don't seem to care too much about ride height and possible damage to the undercarriage and the heat shielding/exhaust system. Just a guess though.

Ferrari is notorious for having the R&D done buy its customers. They are a small company and manufacture a small amount of cars. They do not want to spend extraordinary amounts of money on testing especially on cars not driven a lot. Better and cheaper to deal with the problem when it arises.
