It's on the configurator now
http://www.porsche.com/international/modelstart/all/default.ashx?modelrange=boxster
I had seen the car very often with camouflage, stood almost directly next to it. I never thought that lies under the camouflage a so cool Boxster. Very very good (sideview, inside), very good (back), ok (front).
Until today I had thought to switch from a Boxster to a 911/Cayenne/Cajun (wife's car would have to be changed accordingly too). But now I know that it will be a Boxster again.
Wow! Very well done Porsche It looks fabulous!

I really like it so far, good job Porsche
Little bit dissapointed though that it doesnt get new 7speed manual
But...this car begs for a GT3 style version
Give it a proper handbrake
Call it GT,GTS,RS or whatever, make it with a 2.7liter engine if it needs to be much slovver than 991GT3

Wow ! it seems like it was worth the wait. It looks amazing, much more desireable than the last Boxter. I'd order one in a second. these 2 pictures are just pure car porn. A much better job at evolving than the 911 did
I mean seriously !! I'm amazed at how epic it turned out.

Some more
OMFG, I LOVE that little fold line in between the headlight and the hood. It was the designers favorite 918 Spyder design feature, and they went ahead and put it on the new Boxster! Porsche rocks right now, this car is so hot in the pics already, imagine real life. I might just drive to Stuttgart just to see it before dealers do.
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Looks like the way they destroyed 10% (35hp) of the base 991's power (same 3.4L motor, but 350hp) was to use different camshafts. Max Power is reached at 6,700rpm, instead of 7,400rpm. Has anyone seen a picture of the tachometer (wonder if it has a lower redline than the 991's 7,800)?
Cayman S will probably make 325hp at 7,000rpm and Cayman R 335hp at 7,250 or so...

Thanks, so with the same redline as the 991, but a power peak that arrives much soon, it could make for some pretty lackluster performance at the top end (unless it doesn't decline very steeply somehow).

Really like it! Smash hit from Porsche. Personally I don't like cab's but the Cayman would be very interesting to see!
If Porsche can continue this fantastic design evolution of their model line even the Panamera will probably look good when it get's it's next update

First thought in my mind after watching the official pictures is that the car looks like the old Toyota MR Spyder circa 2001.
Second thought is the new age Porsche interior treatment is out of this world, finally interiors for the whole range that matches the Porsche name.
Third thought, my god that interior must have at least $10k in 'optional' leather and other misc trims. The standard car has to be covered in plastic. head to toe.
Whoopsy:

That's how it's always been with this company , going back the many decades I have been an owner. Can anyone think of any other mass market car manufacturer that has pages of separate leather covered options down to key holes and vent slats ?
PURE profit for them and ZERO additional resale for the buyer !
RC:
I would probably order this one...not even fully optioned but worth 93k EUR. Ouch.
Hahaha, just did the same, guess what? With only the options that seemed appropriate to me it was nearly 94k Euro.
Not that very long ago this amount of money did buy you a well specced Carrera S...
