    how do i stop the 120km chime

    man this thing is really pi**ing me off. i cant stand it any more , every time i go over 120km, i hear "ding ding ding...".
    is there any way i could stop it or disable it?

    Click on the on board computer stalk, push the stalk up or down until you go to limit, you make the limit higher or just click on it and turn it off.

    Yes, u can switch it off.
    Its the PCM that has been set to advice you that u are exceeding 120 km/h.
    Simply use the computer and find "limit" in the menu, and either clear it or choose another limit.
    Btw its pretty cool to have if u wanna keep ur license...

    Dr. Phil - in Japan we don't have PCM so I didn't know about the Menu in the PCM - thanks for pointing that out!

    i did it. ive clicked on limit 200kmh and it still plays on 120.ive even unchecked the teh active box. does it take time to kick in or what? could mine have a defect?

    Only the Porsche dealer can remove it using the Porsche computer. It has nothing to do with PCM, and cannot be removed by the owner.

    This 120 km chime is a safety feature in all GCC-speced vehicles.

    Agreed, some kind of middle east government annoyance i believe. I really did find that annoying when i was working in Abu Dhabi driving on the highways with the flow of traffic at well over 120 kph.

    Back in the day, cars in Japan used to chime at you if you went over like 75 kph or something, I can't remember what it was. Probably a very similar thing to that.

    Wow, I was not aware of that! How very annoying! I am sure the dealer will do it for you....

    In Japan, I have never been in a cab going more than 60 KMH or so - usually only get in cabs around Tokyo city centre but, in Singapore which I frequent very often they have that annoying chime!

    If all else fails - keeep the revs at 6,000rpm with the windows open?? OR, ear plugs???
