    Panamera Coupe...not coming...yet ?

    Just got his in (as always...take rumors with a grain of salt): Apparently Porsche has decided to postpone a Panamera derived Coupe model with two doors. It would be too expensive to use the current Panamera platform, so apparently the decision has been taken to use the next gen Panamera platform for this, which will also be used for the next gen Bentley Continental for example. The next gen Panamera is rumored for earliest 2015.

    The Panamera Coupe doesn't have anything to do with the rumored 961.

    The 961 is very likely to be placed between the upcoming 911 top model (GT2 ?) and the 918.

    I rather think that the 961 will be in the 250k EUR price range.

    I wonder if the "961" will have hybrid driveline elements like front axle electric motors?  

    It would be no surprise to me if it did.

    That positioning would make Panamera coupe more of a luxurious GT a la Bentley rather than a sports two or two plus two, a segment to be covered by 961 then.

    Thats exactly the point of the Panamera Coupe or whatever the name will be. I would have chosen a Panamera Coupe in a heartbeat...if it would be available, two doors make more sense to me than four doors (kids need the room, not the comfortable entrance to the rear). Maybe the next car after the Panamera...or Cayenne. Smiley

    If I misunderstood you and you actually mean if they will introduce the Panamera first and then the Panamera Coupe, I don't know but it would make sense (new platform, initial quirks need to be addressed, etc.).

    Yes, unfortunately the Coupe is going to be slightly more expensive.

    I'm not sure if the 2 door Panamera will carry a different name, I actually think that Panamera Coupe would be OK.
