My favorite Pana model would be a 4S Diesel with the new audi engine 3.0 tdi, 313 ps, 650 NM, 4-wheel, 25-30 gph. Audi is supposed to bring that engine to the US. Why not Porsche? ( don't sell me the Hybrid ) We should lobby for this to happen?!
Well...it could happen...just be patient.

The all-wheel drive part might have to wait for the face lift edition. I would be interested in either a diesel or hybrid version if it were available in AWD form. The current models don't allow for diesel or gasoline-hybrid AWD because of some unspecified mechanical fit issues.
I anxiously await news of a Panamera 4S diesel!!!

The Hybrid is fun to drive if you're a tekkie but after a short period of time, the novelty factor wears off. I would stay away from it and apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that way.
A stronger Diesel is coming, I can't say however if it is going to be available in the US. One thing is for sure, huge torque figures make only sense with a AWD, so I suppose this is going to be standard on a more powerful Diesel.

My lease is up 04/2013, so there is ample of time to wait and see..I personally wish for a S Diesel version but fear that P US Marketing does not want to canabalize hybrid sales which are already low. This diesel engine with the sound of a V8, torque of a turbo and consumption of a hybrid would make an awesome package.

All I know is that the facelift is coming 2013 (I suppose summer but with VW in the boat, it could be different) and I suppose it would make a lot of sense to introduce the facelift with a new model. The Diesel S makes a lot of sense. I'm afraid however that the Diesel S will be the Audi Diesel with 313 hp (maybe slightly more power in the Porsche) and not the very powerful rumored V8 Diesel. I guess however that even with 313 hp, the Diesel S will be a blast to drive in the Panamera, performance, at least in the lower speed range below 100 mph, should be similar to the much more powerful Panamera S and torque will be huge. All this in a car which probably eats only a little bit more Diesel than the current Panamera Diesel.

Mike, your desire for Panamera diesel and a Keltec12ga have convinced me that your drinking water must be contaminated with a brain cell killing bacteria. Really you don't need to slum in a diesel, its still a frkkn diesel for gawds sakes!!! Get a Turbos S Panamera and be done with it! And the Keltec is a non mil spec pile doomed for B picture movie fans. If you got the coin, don't cheap charlie yourself especially when it comes to things that go bang. Go to a doctor quick and get a prescription for a NFA M3!

I don't know: Especially for speed limited countries, a powerful Diesel would be great. Very good performance combined with half the fuel...oops....Diesel consumption of the Turbo S...not really a bad combo if you ask me.
I get the Turbo S because of the Autobahn, otherwise a powerful Diesel would certainly be a viable option.

Well, I've thought about paying $200 each for better armament, but the quick background check seems more innocuous than a permanent record with ATF.

I'd rather have the V10 TDI diesel from the Touareg in the Panamera.......................
YES I wish they would at least offer it. Panamera Turbo Diesel S
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)
Lovely review from EVO's Metcalfe on the Panamera Diesel. I'm really enjoying this guy's reviews, very complete and no-nonsense.
