    First Aventador In The Mid-Atlantic

So the first Avie arrived at F/L dealership in Sterling yesterday and an old board friend who's one of the top 3M Clear Bra installers in the Mid-Atlantic got the call to cover it. (Basically he gets called to do anything coming out of F/L of Washington).

I absolutely love the Aventator - but obviously the trunk is so small you can't go anywhere with it with 2 people which I find very "unpractical" If I buy one I have to be able to go somewhere with it cheeky

I feel the same as you BjoemB, trunck space is important for those weekend trips indeed.

The Aventador is actually pretty good, on par with the 458, 12C, 991 etc. You can bit two big soft bags in there for a few days trip.

Unlike other cars like the Gallardo or CGT, very limited storage space, going anywhere more than two days in not an option.

Most owners will just go to the local nightclub or casino so they won't need luggage space. Smiley

As per my friend who owns a 458 - he said it's half the trunk of a 991 and no possibility - unlike the 458 - to put stuff behind the seats - he's saying you cannot even go with yr wife somewhere for a week-end - but then I haven't seen it myself - on the RS I can squeeze nicely more than 2 soft-week-enders thru the cage - not evening considering the front trunk - so in terms of practicality I still believe the 911 beats them all !

Re: First Aventador In The Mid-Atlantic

Thanks for the pics - the Öhlins-shocks look so great. Smiley

Also, nice to see someone doing the 3M-job perfectly - I did it on our Family-car myself on the rear bumper - it was a nightmare...Smiley

Yes, the 3M Clear Bra is not the easiest substance in the world to work with.

Shyler basically gets the call for anyone who purchases a car at F/L or Washington and opts to have the car covered. He's that well respected.

I keep encouraging him to add a full scale detailing service to his clear bra business.

Never seen the process before... very cool. It's almost an art.

Which makes me wonder why the designers don't design in flanks luggage compartments a  la the McLaren F1.

To an extent, yes it very much is. There are not "pre cut" forms, so it takes a skilled eye to figure out how to cut the sheets so that they lay correctly over the body lines and creases.

The Aventador is one of my favorite sports cars. I have to admit however that the Ferrari FF also attracts me a lot. I recently had the chance to hear one passing by and the sound was just amazing. Nice family car but the price tag is a little bit steep...to say at least.

    Heist,

I understand that after applying the film, it's important for the installer and a friend to take the car for a very fast drive to make sure the film is seated properly.

Is that the way it works? Smiley

I remember your first very negative comment on the look upon the release of the press pictures.  Nice positive change of opinion. Smiley
