    Re: Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus

New SCG003S Coming To Geneva Claiming Title Of World's Fastest Road-Legal Car At The Ring

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus will launch their first ever production model, the SCG003S, at this year's Geneva Motor Show, while also anticipating a stunning 6:30 minute Nurburgring lap time, a full 27 seconds quicker than a Porsche 918 Spyder!

That time would put it just 20 seconds from the famous Nordschleife record of 6 min and 11 seconds, established by Stefan Bellof in 1983. At the same time, at 6 minutes and 30 seconds, the SCG003S would also own some very important modern-day bragging rights at the Ring.

The SCG003S is also said to be the fastest-cornering road legal car in the world, with a net downforce in excess of 700 kg (1,543 lbs) at 250 km/h (155 mph), pushing more than 2g through corners.

Hand-built in Italy by Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT), the SCG003S uses a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 engine, putting down 800 horsepower and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque, which in turn allows it to get to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3 seconds and hit a maximum speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). The engine is mated to a 7-speed sequential gearbox, operated through electro-pneumatic paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

Its bodywork is built entirely from carbon fiber, while the cockpit features an organic shape in order to minimize its aero footprint on the wake. The rear wing however was changed from the one used on the track-only SCG003C to a more streamlined design for the SCG003S. The "C" or (Competizione) version of the car will also be on display in Geneva come March.

One reason I didn't buy one. I believe I could have had car number 3.

For the longest time they had tried the hardest to see if their car can be imported to North America. They finally found the solution but it's not ideal to me.

Well, if anything it is unique but I don't see any practicality in ownership other than a possible investment. What is the price tag?

I think the final assembly part would be fun, assuming things are well labeled and organized.  Would be fairly absurd at the track, passing Porsche RS and Ferrari Speciales like they were chicanes - not very safe nor challenging...

Exactly, it will also be way beyond my capability. It was already no fun in my 918 at my track during casual lapping, since we have only designated passing zones, which are our 3 long straights, if I am being an asshole and determined to keep someone behind me, they have no way to catch me and pass on the straights.

    Re: Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus

Doesn't mean you have to assemble yourself literally.  Have many friends who have gone through this with Ariel Atoms, etc.  but perhaps this is not the experience you want for that kind of cash. For average buyer of cars in that range.

Agree on performance...probably just too much unless all your buddies have cars like Radical, formula, prototype cars.

Has SCG claimed that they have actually achieved this N-Ring time or is this what their simulations suggest the car "Could" achieve ??

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Teases A $400,000 Sports Car

In a post on the company's Facebook page, SCG hinted the model will be a "very lightweight sports car" with a carbon fiber body and chassis. The post went on to suggest the car will have a three-person seating arrangement which could be similar to the McLaren F1 and BP23.

Technical details remain elusive but the post mentioned a "high revving engine" that produces 650 hp (484 kW). It would be connected to a gated six-speed manual transmission with a "clutch pedal option."

    Re: Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus

SCG 004S Supercar Unveiled With 650 HP And $400K Price Tag

Set to be built over the course of the next 18 months, the SCG 004S is a street-legal supercar with a carbon fiber chassis and body that enables it to weigh around 2,600 pounds (1,179 kg).

The interior has a McLaren F1-style three person seating arrangement and drivers will face a three-spoke steering wheel and an assortment of different gauges. The model also has toggle switches and rotary knobs that will allow drivers to easily deactivate and adjust various systems such as the anti-lock brakes and traction control system.

Power will be provided by a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces around 650 PS (478 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque. It will be connected to a six-speed manual transmission but a paddle shift gearbox will also be available as an option.

Pricing starts at $400,000 and the company expects to have running prototypes completed by the middle of next year. The first 25 production models will be "Founders Editions" and they are slated to be delivered in 2018 and 2019. The company will then begin gearing up to produce 250 units annually. SCG also plans to offer GT3 and GTE/GTLM versions of the car in the future.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is currently accepting pre-orders and interested customers will need to make a deposit of $40,000.

    Re: Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus

Cool from the front, cool from the rear, but all the other angles look weirdly proportioned. Not really feeling it.

    Re: Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus

For 400k this car is epic.

    Grounds up design inside out.

SCG's other car is SCG003 is over 2 mil and not US legal.

I think it’s great!  Love the gated manual (last seen in Lambo and R8 a few years ago).

What an ungly car. From the side view it looks like an older Corvette. To me all angles and dimensions are wrong.
