Conny997:
I've got the message as well. Even 4 days ago. And they wrote they will need 4 hours to fix it.
Fortunately I've the X5 in right now to fix a hail damage. So I only need to send the message to the service guy.
Furthermore I'll get the first service at 32.500 km and the winter tires. So it's a "all in one job" for BMW.
:-)
I already switched to winter tires and when I picked up the X5 M, the left rim in the rear (driver side) was damaged, it had a huge part chipped off. When I showed this to the dealer, his initial reaction was to blame me. I told him that he should check out all four rims and that he won't find a single damage on the rim and if there would be damage from hitting a boardwalk, it wouldn't be in the middle of the rim. He checked and apologized, a couple of minutes later, a guy from the repair shop confessed that the rim fell down when he carried it to the car and he didn't see the damage. I was lucky I saw it when I wanted to pick up the car.
My dealer needs two days for the job because they are very busy and the repair shop is very small. Indeed, dealer is huge but the repair facility is a joke. I told them they can keep the car for four days, they need to repair the rim too but I'm actually curious how they are going to do it because I don't allow them to take off the tire off the rim (for security reasons). I will mark the tire/rim to know if they didn't listen to me.
So far, 16500 km and not a single issue. Well...not exactly: Sometimes the rear gear doesn't engage and I have to try one or two times again (since this is electronically controlled, there may be a software issue) and sometimes, the entertainment system doesn't "recognize" my music collection, it shows the songs but doesn't play them. When I switch to CD, everything works fine but it still doesn't play mp3 or m4a files, only after I turn off the engine and turn it on again. Also very likely a software bug.
I'm a happy camper but I will very likely switch to the Cayenne Turbo S or Turbo with Powerkit and my wife takes over my lease for another year or two. Not that I don't like the X5 M, on the contrary but since I can afford only one Porsche, it has to be the daily driver.
