    Clutch problem

    Hey Guys haven't been around in a while...2 young kids at home. My 08 turbo cab's clutch will not depress at all. Obviously can't start the car. This after a trip 300 miles not really hard driving...although got into it with a new maserarti on HYW 17 at Scotts Valley..he did not like the result! I digress. Anyway parked the car in the garage and a few days later went to start it and clutch is stuck. Anybody have heard of this problem?

    The clutch will not depress at all. Does that mean that the pedal cannot be depressed or that the clutch does not disengage when the pedal is depressed?

    If the clutch does not disengage when the pedal is depressed then either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder is leaking badly (check fluid level).

    If the pedal cannot be depressed, the clutch master cylinder has failed. Unless you have the time and mechanical inclination to replace parts yourself, this is just time to call for a tow to the repair shop/dealership.

    If you seriously want to hear about pushing the car until you can slip it into first and then slam shift and hope to avoid a complete stop on your way to the repair shop, I have only done that to really cheap cars.

    Thanx for the advise must be the clutch master cylinder then since I can't depress the clutch at all. Will call tow in am thanks again u guys are the best!!

    I have driven home and then to the shop the next day without a clutch cable in my old '84 911.  Takes a good touch and some well placed hills.  Go with the Tow.

    Had the car towed this am thankfully still under warranty. Will let you know what the problem is hope its something covered by warranty as well.

    So I had the tow guy come and the clutch was working fine. He was able to start the car and drive it (I was at work) and everything seams fine now. Not sure what happened but talked to my service manager and he said to drive it around when I get home and see how it goes. Strange hopefully it doesn't happen again

    Glad the problem has sorted itself out ... however, I would still get it checked for peace of mind ... because one has to wonder: why did it happen in the first place?
