    Re: GTS Update

    John H:

Hi Gilmour, glad you'll be able to get some in the UK.  They come in packs of 10 and are small in size, so re-usability is limited.  Suggest you get several packs when you visit to keep you going...

BTW - I've just ordered a pair of black Speedster stone guards which I'm hoping will resolve the problem more permanently..

Hello John. I have been following your thread about the black stone guards & think they will look really good on my car. I assume the guard is a standard size. Please post some pics when they are installed.

Do you use the sponge for the whole car or just the stone guard lipSmiley

    Re: GTS Update

IMHO the black stone guard should look great on any colour (metallic or non-metallic) provided that there is enough contrast (light-dark) between that colour and black.

The black guards I've ordered are the ones that come as standard on the Speedster - in other words they are for a wide-bodied car so will suit the GTS just fine... I'm told they could take a few weeks to come through, but will post pics when they are fitted..

The sponges can be used to clean the whole of the stone guard plus the edges.. also useful for the entry sill logos.

It's not recommended for use on the whole car itself as it could cause polished surfaces to become dulled... (see the instructions on the image I posted above)...Smiley

    John / Gilmour,

my hello to the GTS club... took delivery of my GTS few days ago, under below link I posted few pics of my car.

I ordered the black stone guards direct with delivery...see pics. Looks awesome, makes a difference. IMO it gives the car more presence and classic sports appeal... just like Carreras & turbos in 80s. Really good choice.

(http://www.rennteam.com/forum/page1.html?vs=37#_6  -   say hello to my 911 Carrera GTS)

kashmir - welcome to the GTS club.Smiley Those black stone guards look awesome. Wasnt aware you could get them factory fitted. I tried to get yellow painted brake calipers & was politely told if you want yellow order PCCB

Awesome spec Kasmir!!! A Sport Classic in disguise!

    Re: GTS Update

The stone guards look great! Personally I'm not a fan of the fuchs wheels for a modern 911, but it does give it a nice retro look. Enjoy

    Hi Gilmour...thanks for the welcome...Smiley

About the black stone guards... you can order direct from factory, though they need to be fitted seperately. Similiar to the Fuchs wheels... Porsche tends to be somewhat complicated here and there. You need a helpful and creative dealer to get around that...Smiley a flexible wallet helps as well...Smiley

     Love the fuchs wheels !

    Re: GTS Update

Just got my first speeding ticketSmiley. Really have to watch the acceleration in the GTS - just dabbed the throttle to get past slow moving traffic in the wrong lane & before I knew it - 150kph & didnt have time to smile for the camera. Thankfully the black points system here is used as a revenue earner & reduces back to zero after fine payment.
