Officially out.
BjoernB:
I like it but looks rather big....which in these days is a pain to park - at least in CH
"At 4804mm long, 1926mm wide and 1796mm tall, the ML is 24mm longer, 16mm wider and 19mm lower than its forerunner."

Cayenne is overall much more expensive car then new ML(according to provisional German ML price list that I got). Also, most of the new ML sales will be diesel engines(specially small 250CDI).
Personally, I would choose new ML 250 CDI as family SUV if my need for speed and power is satisfied differently(via true sportscar as second car). Mercedes idea was to target costumers that wanted something different then X5 or Cayenne. I would also choose Touareg V8 TDI over Cayenne S-but, that's me.

Not really a fan of the new M class but I really like our current ride in California...the GL450 4-matic. A bit too comfy for me but for speed limited regions and a large family, a really nice ride. According to rumors, the next gen GL class is going to be available as an AMG model too.
