Hmm... No. SLS AMG Roadster looks way better then 997.2 cabrio(or 991 cabrio if we look at spy pics). 40kg more weight is acceptable in most cases. If you want sportscar with open top and price is no limit you can not go wrong with SLS AMG Roadster.

R8 V10 Coupe
+engine, one of the last V10 on the market. Excellent in power and torque delivery
+confidence inspiring drive dynamics
+very, very good ESP setup
+gated manual gearbox
-shows its age in some areas like AWD setup(which is very good indeed but, it is after all 5 years old design)
-not that practical(mini trunk)
BTW, R8 V10 will get power bump for MY13(from May 2012) to 540ps and new 7speed R tonic will be offered as well(since my source told me that this is new Graziano updated sequential manual you can also expect NO manual version from MY13).
SLS AMG Coupe
+engine, true monster of power and torque
+excellent drive dynamics with truly awsome traction for RWD
+DCT very good indeed(actually excellent in auto modes and good to very good in manual mode)
+also confidence inspiring for driving
+relatively practical for trips
-gullwing doors not that practical
-optional AMG Ride Control suspension a must(or AMG Performance suspension if you like conventional pretty hard suspension)
-not the best headlights in business
