I was told today by a friend that he was offered a powerkit for his new 997.2 TT to take it up to 530 hp and that this was coming from his dealer in Bahrain, as powerkit x51 option. does anyone know if in fact porsche is offering that upgrade for the turbo? I asked my dealer here and they seeme a bit clueless.....

Sounds more like a dealer who tries to cash in on the naivety of a customer or your friend is just gossiping (which wouldn't surprise me, it is the Middle East).
Fact is: So far, there is no 997 Turbo Powerkit from Porsche. The only official Porsche power upgrade for the 997 Turbo is called...997 Turbo S.
I can't exclude that the dealer uses Turbo S parts to modify a regular Turbo but I rather think he sells a simple chip tuning for a lot of money.

Ya thanks RC, I assumed that it was pure gossip, as I'm very good friends with the after sales manager at my dealer in Beirut, and he would probably contact me as soon as an "official" upgrade was made available, I've already got an aftermarket exhaust from cargraphic to make the car sound better, and I'm more than happy with my turbo as it is, but I'm always have a weak point for more power, hence my interest in finding out if this was true! thanks for your help:)

Cargraphic makes great exhaust systems for the Turbo (reliable, without nasty "side effects"), good choice.
I'm not sure if a powerkit will be available since the 991 introduction is just around the corner. The 991 Turbo shouldn't be available until 2012 but I still think that a powerkit doesn't make sense anymore.
