Mercedes C63 AMG

was eyeing the C63 for quite some time now and have basically decided to order the facelift C63 to be released in july.

with the current climate here i want a stealth 'fun car'. maybe the timing is not the best but being a car nut, the gasoline in my blood is making me itch.

i think its a cool car and performance with the optional poewer package at 487 hp will be surely similar to my ex 997 turbo gen.1

Hi Intouch,

I have a 2009 C63 AMG and I can tell you that it's one of the most fun cars I've ever driven..... it's also one of the scariest lol, the engine sound is so nice and the power in that car is great, I've done the Kleemann ECU stage 1 tune, so I'm up to around 500 hp from the stock 451. It's the perfect stealth car until you hit the throttle and people realize this isn't an ordinary C class. Becareful about getting into fender benders or little hits here and there, as the dealer in Beirut holds no parts in stock..... also get some semi slicks on there for a little more grip as you loose the rear prety much every time you hit the gas...... take care of yourself in Egypt, and we hope for a better future for all of our brothers there.....

i would surely go for the full carbon interior.

still waiting for configurator to go online. i have the pricelists and options lists but cant yet visualize all the options until they are online.

sls is still in customs but am working on clearing it within the next 14 days hopefully. still not the time to drive around in such a car though.

thanks for the input moser.

while i am sure it's a fun little sedan, i am definitely not overwhelmed by the power it has even with the pp+ as the chassis will certainly make up for it especially with the lsd.....

i think its a great daily cruiser.

Great daily cruiser...exactly. 0-100 kph in 4.4 seconds and 0-200 kph in 14.0 seconds...PP version, already tested. Impressive figures for such a subtle car, I would order it in black but for Egypt, white may be the better choice.

Very good thinking, for the current political and social climate in Egypt, the C63 AMG should be perfect.

Slightly used versions go for under 70k over here in Germany.

Just found the "old" model, same power output (487 hp, Performance Package) with 6000 km for 79000 EUR (incl. 19% VAT) from an official Mercedes dealer in Germany.

Car is fully loaded, very interesting price.

Sometimes I really have the urge to get me such a toy for daily driving but then, I still have the X5 M.

For somebody who is looking for a slightly "cheap" performance daily driver solution, this is just perfect.

exactly my thoughts RC. i want a 'budget' performance car that is subtle and small enough to be used on a daily basis.

as e and c class are locally manufactured, they are plenty around and this beast will blend in just perfect.

the common man on the street will never be able to tell the difference.

surely i am going for the PP option.

Now you may understand what I'm dealing with over here in Germany and why a flashy car isn't really good for me or my family. It may not be the same political situation but you would be surprised how hostile some feelings are towards expensive toys.

i surely do RC. and it was always beyond me why in such an advanced society as the german, people exhibit such great envy instead of appreciating the common high standard in relative terms to 90% of the rest of the world.

In societies like Egypt, social rights were never even and wealth was never justly and fairly distributed from the time of the Pharaohs' empire to the time of Mubarak. Therefore, these social and economic differences ended up to be viewed as normal in the culture of the vast majority of the population. People for centuries accepted their fate. The rich and the poor. The masters and the servants.

This is one of the reasons that these plutocrats are accepted in Russia. Because people their never had a free and fair social and economic system from the time of the Czars to the Soviet Union to today.

On the contrary in more equalitarian societies with traditionally milder variations in social status and wealth, extreme demonstrations of wealth attract negative feelings of anger, suspicion and often envy. IMO this good because it acts as a check and balance against extremes of exploitation and corruption.

Good explanation...however, I'm still puzzled about the fact that especially people who are not really poor express envy, while really poor(to german standards) people usually are less aggressive towards luxury products.

another major reason I have decided on this car is that it is most likely the last of the NA 6.2 V8 we will see from mercedes. which will make this car have a special appeal in the future.
