    KresoF1:

250K € + Mwst. in Germany-without options of course. With decent options around 330K € in Germany with Mwst.

How does this compare to LP640 or 458 Italia prices in Germany ?

AFAIK the base price of the LP700 is something like 304k in Germany.

Germany base price of 458 is 197k, make it 200k with delivery. For options you can easily add between 15 and 50k. LP640 base price was something like 260k.

     HAHA fritz Smiley

I must admit, at first I didn't like the design of the new Aventador but now it has started to grow on me. It looks stunning in darker colours!

Re the weight issue. There's always the Lambo Sesto Smiley Although I believe that was a unique specimen.

Most supercar makers are (understandably) coy about pricing; even if they do quote a price it will usually be ex-factory, leaving the customer to deal with local import duties and taxes.

Not so Automobili Lamborghini: herewith Aventador base prices for major markets around the world:

    Britain: £201 900

    Europe: €255 000

    United States: $379 700

    China: 6 270 000 yuan

    Japan: ¥39 690 000

    South Africa: R5 500 000*

The first customers will take delivery of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 in the third quarter of 2011.

*We'll save you the arithmetic: the Aventador will cost more than double in South Africa than it will in most other countries.

Are you sure regarding the price in the U.S?  The difference with the E.U. price is huge and it sounds extremely expensive.

Just dd the quick currency conversion and it's about the same price in USD as it is in Euro and BPS.

Of course this is the base car price quoted before any options or personalizations are added and of course the VAT (in Europe), Import Tariffs, Luxury Taxes, Gas Guzzler Taxes (In the US, I'm sure other countries have an equivalent), State/County Taxes, Tax tax tax tax ... Smiley  and the dealer ++ premium they like to tack on for new exotics, so "out the door" pricing will probably be more in the order of $450,000 as I speculated.

Side note: Where is Mike S? Can he explain WTF(!!) the car costs almost 2x as much in South Africa?

    Re: Murcielago successor/replacement

You speculated 450 base, 600 with everything which sounded way 2much.

Anyway, by Friday i'll be getting confirmation on the  price.

Nosing $500,000 is what I meant.

    Re: Murcielago successor/replacement

Does it come with a manual gearbox? or only the ISF thingie?

    Re: Murcielago successor/replacement

From what I have been told no manual gearbox for the Aventador. It seems to be the trend lately for all Hypercars lately take a look at Bugatti, Pagani and Koenigsegg. Whether we like it or not machines can can shift faster than us, all the time. A lot of the companys now are using this technology to achieve better acceleration times.

    Re: Murcielago successor/replacement

Compared to the Aventador the Murcielago looks very dated!

This new Lambo is for me the most precious new car of the year! Soooo good looking!

@ggbh8, @HEIST - Thanks for the info! Smiley

Yeah, these new gearboxes pretty cool. I still prefer the stick shift tho... I guess I am old-fashioned, but I would rather accelerate slower with the manual than have the PDK / ISF sorta stuff.....  Smiley

What I find interesting is how the 0-100 kmh in 3 seconds is defining a 2010+ supercar... Wasn't it 5 seconds post 2000 which was the big yardstick?

What's it going to be in 2021? 1 second with electric drive? It's a pity that driving feel can't be quantified in a single number....
