    Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

I wonder if anyone of you has tested the turbo and s versions and if you can help me for my future purchase of cayenne.
I love aspirated engines but I tried the new turbo 500cv and I found spectacular.
    My questions are:
    The S version is enough?
    I hope the Cayenne GTS?
    I bought the turbo?

Thanks and sorry for my English not good1________________.jpg

Re: Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

     cayenneturbo -

I've driven the 2011 Cayenne V6, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo, so I can speak to you from experience.

The V6 is hardly deserving of the Porsche crest. It's purely an entry-level vehicle to give people of a wider financial demographic the chance of Porsche ownership without the lofty price tag. [No offense to V6 owners.]

I genuinely enjoyed the S model. It's agile, responsive and has plenty of power on tap for when you want to speed things up.

The Turbo is hands-down insane. Anything that weighs over two tons really shouldn't be allowed to travel as fast as the Cayenne Turbo does; excellent road grip, typical Porsche dynamics and a vehicle that really puts the "sport" in "sport utility vehicle."

As for the 958 GTS - the GTS models are released by Porsche towards the end of a vehicle life cycle to push sales figures. The previous Cayenne GTS was released in 2008, after the facelift of the first Cayenne while the 997 GTS also came out after the 997's initial release in 2005. We might see a Cayenne GTS in 2015 after the current 958 Cayenne receives its mid-cycle refresh.

If I would go with my emotions, I'd splash on the Turbo in a heartbeat because I love the wider grille in the front, the modified headlights, the Turbo cachet and knowing that I'm in charge of 500 manic horses. Realistically however, I'd get the S. Unless you're planning to go to the track or race the car around, you're going to be spending the majority of your time in the Cayenne in the city. Speeding cameras, speed breakers, potholes, police; all of that won't allow you to utilize the full potential of your Turbo. How often are you going to be tearing down an inner city street at over 180 km/h, right?

The S is sufficiently fast, provides all the power and speed you'll need for real world driving and just about everything else the Turbo offers short of 100 extra horses and a bit of speed. Don't forget that Turbos depreciate faster, so you'll take a bigger punch if you wish to sell the car at a later stage. Worst comes to worst, you can always modify your S with a new Turbo bodykit. ;)

    Hope this helps.

Of course, what you have written has helped me a great help. I also believe that the S is more than enough for day to day, but if opting for that would make some changes as the front bumper, the four exhaust pipes, red or yellow painted brake calipers .. ..

To avoid the depreciation of the turbo also comes to my head to buy a cayenne turbo Approved cheaper because I do not care to have some kilometers

I'll tell you the outcome, thank you very much rulesdontapply.

Re: Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

An Approved Used vehicle is a good idea, since you can find a highly-equipped Cayenne for thousands less than the original price. Someone else's depreciation is your gain.

I was at the Approved section at the Porsche Centre here in Kuwait a few weeks ago and was examining an aqua blue Panamera Turbo. This car had it all - Burmester, PDCC, sport chrono Turbo, front/rear seat ventilation - and only about 3000 kilometers on it. It was selling for 43000 Kuwaiti dinars; the original price of the car when newly bought was 59000 KWD. That's a 16000 KWD difference after only 3000 kilometers - that's more than 42000 EUR!

You can definitely spruce a new S up if you get one. Get the sport exhaust system and you'll have four circular tailpipes instead of the Cayenne S' standard two rectangles [not to mention that amazing sport sound]. Painting the calipers red or yellow is common and easy to do, and I'm totally sure that you can ask your dealer to buy a Cayenne Turbo front bumper/grille unit and have them replace it on your car.

Keep me/us informed on what you do. If you ever need anything, please ask.

If you can get a "new" used Cayenne Turbo with low mileage and a substantial saving, go for it. The Turbo is spectacular, I wouldn't go for anything else.

Re: Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

i had a cayenne turbo in the old concept and i also had the chance to test and drive new turbo, new S, new hybrid etc... as always..... it's always a question what you surch.

If you want speed, good grip, acceleration very fast, then go for the turbo. If you are looking for speed, good grip and normal accelaration go for the S. For the other i do not pronouce myself.

I decided to shoose the S cause it brings me what i need for a daily bases SUV. I don't need 500 HP. I got the GT3 for play or get sensations. Now if you do have only one car and again you are looking for pure sensations and pleasure get yourself the turbo otherwise get The S.

With my S i do find almost the same sensations that i had with my old Turbo but i can't really compare cause the new cayenne is a new Cayenne and has a total different behavior then the old one.

Then last thing. if it's not a question of monney and you do not have to calculate with insurance, fuel etc.... get yourself the turbo or like RC said, get yourself a early second hand one.

    Hope it could help.

Re: Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

many thanks Cram. The money of course not spare me, but I'm seriously evaluating the purchase of a Turbo Porsche Approved belonging to me is irrelevant because they have 20 or 30 thousand kilometers.
I'm number one fan and I'd like cayenne turbo which if the S would I'm sure looking forward to the turbo and I can not really afford a GT3 or a 997 turbo and I need space.
So I think I'll wait a few months to see if I get a chance in the turbo Porsche Approved, and I still think that sensations are spectacular and quite content consumption

Re: Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

if buying used is not of concern, definitely go with a Porsche Approved Turbo. It'll be so much more bang for buck and you will never look back. Just my thoughts..

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine..  I happen to like both :)

100% agreement with this approach. it can be tough to execute though as the just about new product is a tough find - worth the effort if you can take the build you find.

if you want a manual tranny though, the ONLY options are the 08 to 10 GTS

Re: Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

The new Cayenne is a huge success in Germany, many Porsche dealers are practically sold out (new orders) until end of 2011.

Weird thing though: You can find many Hybrids available at dealers and maybe a Turbo here or there but everything else...no chance.

Re: Cayenne S or Turbo???? GTS????

That doesn't surprise me. Think Porsche did a great job with the Cayenne. Maybe the back isn't perfect, but it is more harmonious with the front, compared to the previous model. Also the Hybrid gives a green image to the Cayenne and even the other models benefit from it.

I do have the opportunity to drive often all different model of Porsche and let me tell you what we have been able to do with the Cayenne S and Turbo. To Drift it.

Yes you read correctly, we brought the cayenne into drift, of course it's not as smooth as with a 911, due to the weight, the hight etc.. but it goes and it's pretty impressiv. I wouldn't suggest to do it if you do not feel sure and know how to do it but really it is something. Believe me.

I'm sure you will go for the right one but the Turbo is for me the beast in SUV porsche.
