    Rossi:

Just kidding. Sportscars and little kids don't go together well IMO. I can't even use half of the potential of today's sportscars with my child in the backrow. And even less if my wife sits next to me. Smiley

And I'm not the type of guy who can fully extract the potential of today's sportscars, so my abilities plus wife next to me plus little Rossi behind me - guess what remains in a car like the Turbo. No thanks, I could rather drive a Dacia Diesel instead and would not be much slower. Smiley

My wife: "Can't you drive a little bit faster, I'm hungry(or thirsty, or just bored, or...)?"

My son: "Why do you drive that slow, Daddy?(or: can't we race that motorcycle?)"

My daughter: "Could you drive faster, so I can fall asleep?" (she always falls asleep when the engine/exhaust noise gets louder...weird kid).

The perfect sports car family... Smiley

It is about fun, not necessarily extracting the car's full potential, especially not on a public street. Why should I drive a boring family car when commuting with my family ? No way. Smiley

Does somebody know if Lamborghini is going to build a 4-seater Gallardo ? Smiley Smiley

Just kidding, I'm going to stick with Porsche. Smiley

RC  in live this 991 looks much difference than 997?? i mean wider and longer, more agressive?

in pics  looks almost the same...

If you actually look at the Auto BILD rendering/photoshop job very carefully, you can identify the new shape line, which is more masculine. The rear light LEDs aren't quite right on the rendering (it is more Audi-like but with the same shape) but otherwise, the photos are pretty accurate.

Nope, this is the very same rendering published in Auto BILD.

The LED light needs some sort of structure.

    And wheels? New designs?

Thanks RC -- looks good so far!

Quick question: do you have any idea which engine the 991 GT3 RS will get?

...could it get the 4.0 litre GT1-based motorsport engine from the 997.3 GT3 RS or maybe...

...a development of the MR6 3.4 litre 90-degree V8 from the RS Spyder? Smiley

I really like what I see from the spyshots, however, it seems like the height of the rear light units is going to be very small, therefore leading to a big "empty space" under the light units (indicated by red line in pic below). My feeling is that that will take a lot of getting used to.

BTW, in the pictures of the prototype stuck in the snow, did anybody notice that this one does have that spoiler on the top of the rear windscreen again?

Joost -- good point, it's clear from the snow pics that the new rear light unit is less tall than the camouflage on the 991 test prototypes...

...perhaps there will be some air vents in the 991 rear bumper (per the GT3) to add some detail in this space below the shallower rear lights? Smiley

RC claims they won't be like this and instead more Audi like.. But they will probably take some hints in shape and layout. Just hoping there will be a possibility for a strip like in the good old days.

I'm pretty sure that in one of the "lessons learnt" sessions held between the 997 and 991 design teams, one of the guys mentioned that the shape of the rear lights should allow for a nice reflector stripe, rather than the design disgrace which is the 997.2 C4 stripe...

No, they will be like this but in these larger photos, you can actually see the "structure" I mentioned. Sorry for the confusion. Smiley

The only reason I'm waiting for the 991 is the beauty of this car (yes, really), the new interior and of course the highly improved chassis/PDK/traction control system (track times should be substantially improved).

I really wanted the GTS because it is really a very good offer, even the 997 Turbo S attracted me but I need to stay calm and make a wise decision next year (997 Carrera S or maybe Turbo again...). Dammit...this happens if one has too many choices. Smiley Smiley

I love the 918 Spyder's rear lights. I also love the 997.2 rear lights. They look fantastic at night. I just hope that whatever Porsche comes up with is at least as attractive but preferably more attractive than what we've already seen
