ADias:Carlos: when I say GT, I am not insinuating 'poseur car'. GT to me means larger, more comfortable, to be used as an executive express or touring car. It does not mean it does not perform. The major concern I have is the WB increase - 100mm - almost as much as the car's WB increased in 50 years, and longer than the Cayman's. I suspect it will make for a better/more stable car, but is that what we want? From your reaction, I sense that you may have plans for a 991. :)
I understand Toni but that can hardly be deducted solely from to the increase in wheelbase, there are many other factors involved in that equation. Its like those that categorically say that the engine in the rear is in the wrong place for a sportcar for handling and performance.... yet try to show that to a GT2RS owner with a car with the engine in the front or the middle.
As 997 owners we should not resent the evolution of the 991 without driving it first. Its not like Porsche has given us any reason to do so everytime they evolved the 911, and recent performance and Nring lap time rumors seem to show that with less power than a 997GT3 it can match its lap time, that is the opposite of a GT car, it actually makes the 997 look like the GT car. So I'm just saying that it would be prudent to give it the benefit of the doubt until we can try it out. If they do turn it into a GT, they would be making a huge mistake, and I will come on them like a ton of bricks! 
As for me having plans for the 991, IF its better than the 997 in terms of handling and performance without any loss of its 911 character, then yes of course! 
When I drove the 996-10mm I though that it would be hard for them to make it better, and on top of it there was the increase weight, the variable ratio steering, japanese gearbox, and other changes that I wasn't sure about, but when I drove the 997S-20mm they did make it better... beyond my expectations. So that is why I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt now

I do not resent anything. My reaction re WB increase is just based on physics and we cannot get away from that. The Panamera drives fantastic but it is not a 997. The 991 will be closer to a Panamera... Think about it.

Physics is a lot more complicated than that, especially on a rear engined car. How can it drive more like a Panamera and supposedly lap the ring in the same lap time as a 997GT3 with less HP? I'd take that WB increase on paper if I can get that sort of handling from a CarreraS. But I think we are getting ahead of our selves, we still know very little about the 991 to come to any conclusions based on a few disjointed details. I'm still also wondering about the effect of that new rear wing, or the 20" wheels that that test car looked like had on too.

The taillight line will look even better when the angular separation line between the rear bumper and rear wheel panel is drawn in.
Thanks guys--you should work for Porsche's pre,pre, pre-marketing launch and salivation creation division. My wallet is already a-tremble....

Does nobody have any thoughts on the sunroof....
If this sun roof slides over the back window ( which it should as to the size of it ) then it is a glass roof .
Otherwise , I do not see where that roof could go ?
