    21 years of Guard Red

Ok - the weather was not picture perfect but I just couldn't wait for next year to take some shots of the two generations of Guard Red. One's a 1988, the other a 2009.

While there's not much of Alpine scenery in it, I hope you still like them.

@Ferdie: I hope you're happy with my progress in adjusting colors   Smiley

We couldn't ask for better pictures, thanks so much Matt. Gorgeous cars, home, scenery and dog

Re: 21 years of Guard Red

The paint of the older one looks as good as the new one

Having those two together makes each of them look better. A really fantastic combo !!!!!

So which one do you prefer ?

Nice pics, just a little tip for your faithful companion. I am sure every breed is different but I would NEVER let a dog lie on hard surfaces like a porch or pavers like n the pic. Max my mastiff did and it created a nightmare in his old age with his elbow caluses' bleeding and even ripping. Always have a padding under them on a hard surface. Avoid the problem.

Re: 21 years of Guard Red

Thank you so much for the really beautiful pics. The paint of the '88 G model looks not even almost like new, it looks better than that.! I have had exactly the same car at that time, with the rear wing too but in black with sand beige interior. Nowadays I would prefer guardsred for the G though. Have fun with both cars. Btw.: nice dog. Hope he likes red Porsche too :-)

What do you mean, "not much alpine scenery"? That is just perfect.

    Thanks for the effort.

BEAUTIFULLY photographed.  Many thanks for your efforts.

Re: 21 years of Guard Red

@Gnil: I do not have a preference between the two, they serve different purposes: One's for spirited driving on tracks and mountain roads, the other for driving with the top down in beautiful and warm weather. I plan/hope to let the 1988 become a veteran with which I am able to attend classic car events. But that'll take another 10 years.

@Racerx: Tell me about it. We have blankets in the livingroom, under the dinning table, in the garage, on the patio... and are almost constantly after him as if we had a obsessive-compulsive disorder (he probably thinks we have)... But it's a game you can't always win.

@Conny997: I am not so sure that he likes them, he definitely prefers moving around on his on paws. At least it is not that we have to push him into the car.

Re: 21 years of Guard Red

Matt, thanks so much! This is exactly what I was hopin for when I saw your first pics of the GT3.

The only thing is; next time I'm in CH, I'll be wondering around, looking very suspiciously at all those beautiful chalets, trying to spot the garage with the red 911s ;-)

Perfect combo, high performance and classic 911.

But seriously, you need to change the rear license plate to a normal "straight" one, looks so much better. Not being Swiss I'm always surprised that people here drive brand new expensive cars with old worn or badly fitting license plates. In CH the license plate is linked to the owner, not the car. It only cost CHF35 to replace them and you keep the same number? Maybe one of the native Swiss can clarify?

Re: 21 years of Guard Red

one happy dog  - Congrats both car's are keepers !

Nothing to clarify.  Yes, you can replace your plate and keep the same number . You can choose if you want a long licence plate or a scare one. Personally I do change it according to the car.

You are absolutely right! But do not worry, I've ordered it a week ago. It should arrive any day.

Re: 21 years of Guard Red

Such a lucky dog - he gets to enjoy a nice ride in 2 different 911s. I'll bet he enjoys the breeze from the top down experience of the cabriolet more

It reminds me of one occasion when I was driving in the USA. We passed a pickup truck on the highway which had the front passenger window wound down halfway. It was a warm evening and a dog had his head out of the window - he was enjoying the breeze and kept closing his eyes for a moment. He looked so content Smiley The simple pleasures in life are some of the best Smiley

I'm amazed by such great views and scenery !!!!....Of course the red duo is just very impressive !...

I am sure the GT3 can be listen by quite a lot of your neighbours, they are lucky !!!!

    Enjoy both of them !!

Very nice - did you get the GT3 recently?  There was a guards red GT3 on Autoscout until a couple of months ago - at an AMAG towards Bern I think.
