Rallye accident with close call this week
Interesting short video. It happened in a rallye but it can easily happen to anybody. This happened this week in a portuguese rallye (Rali de Montágua).
If you lok closely at the beginning of the video, the driver Pedro Peres as he cuts the croner hits something on the apex of the curve with his front right wheel, and he punctures the tire. He is not aware of it right away as he is on the straight but as he trie to make the left turn and loads that front-right tire, he understeers and makes a policem "soil" himself
This has actualy happened to me in the sportquad on trail roads, but fortunately the tires on quads have very little air pressure (and the road it dirt/gravel have much less traction) and the difference in loss of traction with the slashed tire is much less and you don't loose control like this... end result, had to call it a day and had to limp back home 30miles with the weight on three wheels but imagine in a car on a mountain road like this and you meet a tree
