    Ferrari California Test Drive UAE - Kiran Jay Haslam

    Dear Rennteamers,

    I've been away from the site for quite sometime, and I am glad to be back! A new baby boy saw to that, but over the past few weeks I have made good with some great Test Drives for the magazine here in Oman. This is the Ferrari California that I piloted down to the coastal town of Kalba, over a mountain pass from Dubai. It was a magical motoring moment.

    Also, stay tuned for the A8 W12 - Audi have finally agreed to me releasing the article in unison with their Gulf car launch. I'll also post up my recent test of the 2010 Aston Martin DB9, and following that a delightful Bentley experience at Yas Island. All in the coming weeks. Smiley

    That's a very good review. The California (as I think I've been saying for a while ) really is a fantastic car. Just wait 'til you get behind the wheel of a 458 though

    Speed cameras. Yep. Saw plenty of them. But on the road up to Kalba, at one point, camels were more of a concern for me!   

    I think for these sorts of drives and specifically this class of car, Oman is a fantastic place to test. In Nov there is a big Bentley Int. Media drive through Oman. That will probably go some way to put the place on the map. We have better roads, less speed cameras and incredible scenery.
