CloseAccording to our sources, BMW M GmbH will soon (this month) offer an "official" M3 Performance Exhaust which not only is 40% lighter than the current exhaust but which also sounds sportier. Cost is not known yet but don't expect a bargain.

I want to have an exhaust for my M3 and waiting for this offer, too.
I still think that Akra EVO is a better deal.

Don't forget that you keep your warranty with an "original" exhaust.
Especially when you have an engine failure, BMW could easily blame an aftermarket exhaust for the damage, no matter if they are right or not. There have been cases...not only with BMW but other manufacturers too. Warranty is very important on a 80000+ EUR car.

Cost: 3430 EUR incl. 19% german VAT (but excluding install)
Made of Inconel (which indicates that this really is an Eisenmann exhaust), only the 4 rear pipes are made of titanium.
Weight is 9 kg less (aprox. 40% less than original exhaust).
Rear pipes have a diameter of 74 mm each.
Available starting October 2010.

The price tag of the Eisenmann exhaust is 5355,00 EUR...which is weird.
Maybe it isn't quite the same exhaust because the diameter of the titanium exhaust pipes is 76 mm instead of the 74 mm on the BMW exhaust ? I really don't know.
Btw: Eisenmann offers a X5 M sport exhaust too...cost is aprox. 3000 EUR. Sounds pretty pathetic though (original sound, only louder).
