My new 2011 turbo S cabrio

Hey guys.... I have been lurking here long enough, but now happy to report that I just got a call from my dealer, car has been PDI'd and should be here by the end of the week.

The car is a Guards Red with 2 tone interior black and cream, carbon package, rear console red, backseat painted red, turbo II wheels painted black, XM radio, exterior trim in red, back top. Yes, its also my very first convertible ! Smiley and my dream car ! Always wanted a Porsche turbo since I was a kid.

Fastest car driven hard was my Cayman S tuned, enjoyed it so much, but I am pretty sure I will notice quite a difference with the new Turbo S. Smiley Ive got to get used to.

Its a big jump I know, but now I wouldnt settle for anything but the very best P Smiley

Worked hard enought for it. And the time is right now. I am not going to wait for the 998. Live every day like if it was the last. Smiley

I will post pictures as soon as it arrives.

Excellent choice the Turbo S. IMO the best car money can buy in its class.

Congrats !! the 911 is a whole new animal from the cayman, not to mention the jump to a Turbo S. Also I'm very curious to see how your color combo turned out, sounds like an unusual choice, but those always seem to work out great

Thanks guys... I really look forward to the whole 911 driving experience.

Any advice? 5 things I should be careful of?

The Cayman S drives so effortlessly, like its on rails, cuts thru traffic, and its quick and agile. I heard the turbo with the TVS puts the engine into a more neutral -mid engine- feel.

Other than speed, should I be worried too much on the rear weight bias? Going down ramp?

I will certainly enjoy the ocassional (frecuent) sprint of the car, but also the top down. I will get the best of both worlds.

Yes, the color combination is very unique. Thats why I chose it, I was lucky to find a dealer who had it. I like metallic grey and Black, but I have had it. This time I wanted something different, unique, to 120% spoil me. Be a kid again.

I am 42 btw

Good for you for going after your childhood dream car. You're in the middle of your career, but its good to give yourself a little gift once in a while to enjoy things

Cannot wait to see pics the 997.2 TT S in your combo is a truly stunning car. With it's performance why would you wait for the 991? Besides that turbo model is at least another 2-3 years away anyways.

What tuning did you do to the Cayman S for the 350HP?

milltek headers, filter, lgwt flywheel, quaiffe TBD, tubi, plennum. 330-350HP est.

5 things you should be mindful of? IMHO:

1. Don't go into corners too fast.
2. Don't go into corners too fast.
3. Don't go into corners too fast.
4. Don't go into corners too fast. Perhaps more than any other Porsche, you must resist the temptation to speed into corners w/ the 911, especially one so stupendously powerful as yours. Slow in fast out must always be the modus operandi. Don't care if you're WR, you still brake into a corner. Smiley
5. Cargraphic exhaust. You WILL thank me for this.

(Half) kidding aside, congratulations on your fantastic car & enjoy in good health.

Many congrats! It's the world best sportscar for daily usage rather than only the best Porsche. Y'll love it every day, every hour even every single minute. Saw your pics as well. It's a great and rare combo. Enjoy it and have always a safe ride.
