For let's say the same price of a 997 Carrera S Cabriolet, maybe even 10000 EUR more, the Speedster could have been a very interesting product.
Personally, I wouldn't buy it because I don't like the Speedster back too much, it looks a little bit like a hunchback but I'm also no friend of the Boxster Spyder, so maybe I'm a little bit biased.
The Carrera GTS, presented to the public last week, is an absolutely great offer but the Speedster for over 200000 EUR ? I can't help it but the word crazy comes into my mind.

dont like it and dont like the price.
actually all the limited editions and the special editions from Porsche utilize roughly the same parts: some extra colored interior parts, Powerkit, fuchs wheels, gt3 front splitter, some other gt3 parts (the back i think)...
991 must really be round the corner now.
that said i do find the GTS a fine package!

I would feel very ripped off if i were a Sports Classic customer, as all these limited addition models and the GTS can't help but damage the long term collectors value of the Sports Classic.
The Sport Classic has many other styling details that you can't find on any other model, like the double bubble roof, the ducktail and the rear bumper and exhaust pipes. Some of these elements are also on the even more expensive Speedster.
The GTS is just a widebody RWD Carrera S with lots of free extras which you could also specify on a C2S. It's a great value Porsche but not a collector's limited edition.

Completely agree .....
The GTS is really a very good value and a very attractive swan song for the 997 Carrera models. The Sport Classic and the Speedster are both efforts of the Exclusive department. Perhaps too much Exclusive, as with too much foie gras, can leave one too full for comfort?

Wow...They must have a lot of 997.2 parts left in the bin.. The GTS makes sense but the speedster in IMO is absurd..There are enough 997.2 cabs in dealer's inventory in the US so I am not sure who would buy speedster, other then collectors. I could add a power kit and Sport Classic aero kit to C2S Cab for a lot less money.
