Turbo S vs Superleggera Lambo in AutoZeitung

Turbo faster to 200kmh, the max  that this magazine measures.

But slower in Slalom and the Handling Course.

The conclusion goes that the Superleggera is a no-compromise racing car rather than Super-sportscar . It has super handling and dream engine but sparse equipment and little comfort and 208.000 Euro.

It comments that on the limit the Turbo should be driven with brains. The variable AWD and the PTV although no cure-all, enhance the dynamics and the best possible acceleration out of bends and also the ability to drift.

    10 seconds. Wow!

Re: Turbo S vs Superleggera Lambo in AutoZeitung

    Thanks for posting.

100-200km/h is identical. Would be nice to see highspeed acceleration. Handling wise not that fair comparison, with SL using sport tires.

Yep, the 997 Turbo S is really fast. I even saw a 2.9 time for the 0-100 kph acceleration. Very impressive.

With 200Kg more and 50hp less the Porsche manage to be faster Smiley...well Porsche is indeed the King of Performance nowadays, finaly they have the product to smach the competition at a lower price and with better reliability. This seems to be like a miracle equation, nobody ever did it before, and I wonder why if I had to choose between the two I wouldn´t even think twice...it would be the Lambo, and why? Because it has a soul Porsche is laking. I think it´s time for Porsche develop a car like the 458, or Gallardo, a "mini CGT", with high performance at 200.000eur and with the soul laking in all 997 versions(GT2RS apart Smiley) but even that one is boring to look at, just like another 997 tuned up visualy.

It would have to sound like the CGT, with the performance of the Turbo S and the looks of an exoctic with very low profile, large and apealing to look at...oh and with 1300Kg Smiley

I can see your point but I don't agree with you.

Porsche have been doing things this way (substance before ostentation) since the 60s, and quite successfully too. In this way they cater for a different sort of buyer who seeks other pleasures from car ownership. It is their trademark and what makes them different from others.

Why try to be something they are not and lose credibility? An imitation Ferrari would have been something in the R8 mould. Very competent but looked down as an imitation Italian car.

And what is soul in a machine? A number of flaws and failings and idiosyncrasies that make a machine resemble us, imperfect humans. If I want soul I can find a human being to relate to. In a machine I look for power, reliability, practicality and unstoppable efficiency.

Please Reginos, maybe 80% of Porsche owners drive them for ostentation, there are those who don´t even know how many HP their cars have, I meet a few on Porsche Club. Porsche is a sign of richness and a way to assume them selves as sucssesful mans in life, on this poor minds this is what owning a Porsche gives them.

Ferrari imitation!!!!!!!! What is a CGT concept them? Better be Ferrari imitation than Audi/Mercedes/BMW , like the Cayenne/Panamera have been.

I respect the way you see what a car with a soul is, we just have different views in this matter, which is great, can you imagine if all of us liked yellow? what could happend to the poor blue Smiley
