BTW, I'm sure Michael knows what he is doing and he should have very important reasons to start racing in F1

$$€€€!!!! only reasons I could see.

I don't think he returns to F1 because of money.

He was already paid by Ferrari for developing Road cars.

After his 15-year racing career, he should have by now more than 600 milion USD SmileySmiley

I think as a Ferrari consultant he couldn't be paid €30m.

Also we don't know where his fortune was invested, how much he lost because of the recession and the size of his liquid assets to meet his large (as expected) current obligations.

Money (or lack of) is always behind any curious move.

Just out of my curiosity, I googled the most earning athletes in the World and find out this link:

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2009/10/tiger-woods-billion-dollar-athlete.html

I still believe that MS returns to active racing because of some other reasons.. Smiley

If someone like Webber wins the title, it will be bad for F1. His personality and appeal are very limited for a worldwide sport. As to his driving, the hero is the car.

For me it's the other way round: if someone like Vettel wins the title, it will be wrong. For me most of Vettel's reactions when he couldn't win or drive the race like he wanted are somehow premature and he always blames the other drivers. Smiley

Out of the two for a world champion, I would always prefer Webber. Smiley

Re: 2010 British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone

I was all in flame for Vettel at the beginning of the season, and I still think he is the most talented driver on the grid at the moment. But he didn't handle the pressure very well in numerous situations and showed he has a long way to go from speed to winning races.

In the end, I would enjoy a Webber win very much. He is loyal and quiet, and he had to carry the water for so many drivers. And it would give Vettel something to learn from.

By the way, did you know this was Webber driving?

Some journalist should ask Mr. Haug whether he likes Webber Smiley

Re: 2010 British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone

Well, even if Webber is not an angel, Christian Horner has certainly managed to make him into one with that dumbfounding wing-swap (they removed his front wing to put it on Vettel's car and gave him the old one). The BBC mentioned  that the new wing was worth about a tenth and, in the end of qualifying, this was the difference between the red bull drivers. You can't help but root for the guy, after he was publicly treated by his team as a second-class driver. Besides, to tell the truth, Vettel's superiority is not evident - as of late.

Thumbs up to Mark Webber, for showing Christian Horner that Redbull is supposed to give you wings, not take them away :-)

Now that should be on a BIIIG banner at the next GP.

Wow didn't know that was Webber behind the wheel, how scary. Thank god he landed right side up in the branches, which must've couchined the crash forces quite a bit.

Bad joke but has to be said.
