Point of detail on the new 997 GT2 RS from the Goodwood photos -- Porsche appear to have "upgraded" the front wheel-arch extension to a rolled fender compared to the bolt-on extension GT3 RS...

...the front wheel-arch extension looks better on the GT2 RS -- now Porsche just need to sort out that line into the front bumper!
I think the car in the picture features the optional carbon fenders. The regular version looks different (i.e. like in case of the GT3RS)

Great pics, thanks for sharing.
I am amazed how the very subtle body differences, front splitter, wheel arches 1/2" wider wheels and 245 tyres, the apparently (I can't tell !) different rear gurney turn the Cd from 0.32 to 0.34....

It looks like one side is big ( drivers) and the other one is small. I guess this way it repects the new regulations

That sounds more like an optical illusion to me...

I am sure someone can say exactly how much hp the aircon takes away but for practical acceleration purposes it really makes zero difference (in a 500+hp Porsche turbo) in an acceleration test 0-300kph - I know, I have tried it a few times aircon on/aircon off.

I calculated the power use of a/c once for an average car, that was a 3kW compressor motor and it came out at about 4bhp (yes four). That is the maximum power use of course if the system was running at full capacity, i.e. you just turned it on having left the car to sit in 100 degree heat and bake. When running in a steady state to maintain a temperature, I'd doubt it uses more than 1-2bhp.

Aircon tubes/pipes are also used to cool down the fuel. Thus, with aircon switched on you have a potential improvement of engine efficiency
