Very glad to see we agree on this one mate 
Just got back from the Goodwood Moving Motorshow. Mclaren have an MP4-12C on display there in the metallic orange. I hate to say it but for me, in the metal, the car was a huge disappointment from a styling perspective. The quality looks impressive as does the rolling tub chassis they had on display but the car just looks dated to my eyes and the side air intakes look overdone. It also looks quite small which I wasn't expecting.

Hmm, is it me only but the sounds seems to "suit" the McLaren pretty well.

Matter of opinion mate. Just came back home from an F430 F1 ride and the difference in sound is vast (not really fair since I haven't heard the Macca up close but it has that muted turbo thing). Wouldn't you prefer a screamer instead of that growl?
The MP4-12C's profile looks very familiar to me, for months I am trying to remember where have I seen it before, I have finally found it:
It's the Ascari KZ-1
Front, roof, side, rear side all looks very close, even down to the little dip between the 2 rear fenders. The side vents just differs with a vertical instead of a horizontal slits.

To be fair to McLaren and Peter Stevens, it's worth keeping in mind the awesome car design they unveiled in 1991...
