Clapton's V12 458

Just came across this today. WILL sound amazing, but might throw off the balance of such a precisely engineered thing as the 458. We shall see (and be excited)...

Clapton has a photo of his crashed Boxer in the inside of his Slowhand album. Maybe another mid-engined V12 Ferrari isn't such a great idea for him... Smiley

In addition to the BB, I heard that he and Nick Mason went to Maranello to take delivery of their Enzos and then raced them back to the UK, one of them landing a huge ticket in France somewhere.

On the other hand, lets give Ferrari a hand for agreeing to do something like this (assuming the article is correct). You have to give them credit, particularly for a company founded by a man from whom you took only what he was willing to give...

I had read years ago that Clapton owned a couple ferrari dealerships. We know he is a real car guy who actually drives them. And he has had a tough life, so why not build him what he wants.

As great as this sounds, I am very sceptical regarding it's technical feasibility.

I too am skeptical of the logistics of it - but for now I'll put my faith in the Ferrari brain trust and assume they've got the details sorted out or they wouldn't even agree to build it. Who knows - it could be the 458 to end all 458's...
