Pics of spanish meet and drive this weekend (26 June '10)

We gathered again for a meet here, a 150km drive in the mountains and lunch in the coast.

    Here are some pics Smiley

We gathered in a coastal town in the morning about 30 cars

On route, on some beautiful mountain roads with little traffic

Here we stopped to regroup, each went on their own chosen pace from cruisin' to movin'.

    On route again

    Another stop to regroup again

Here we stopped at a wine cellar were they showed us how they elaborated their wines

And at the end did a wine sampling and a bite to eat, it was already 2 o'clock in the evening Smiley

Back to the coastal town were we started, were we all had a long, and late, lunch in a restaurant at the port enjoying the rest of the day and the company.

Thanks, always enjoy seeing P related pictures from all over the world here on Rennteam, so I like to always share some

The 996C4S is indeed a strange combo, no my favorite I must say, but there was a beautiful 993C4S that just looked great from behind, the 993 curves with wide stance but without the rear wing looked great. However on route I spent most time behind a 997GT3 and that was my favorite car there and the sound it makes on high revs! target.gif  (note to Porsche, please make a 991 GT3 version with rear seats for children  tongue.gif)

SmileySmiley No yet, in my case the facelift did not offer me enough to change since I want manual trannies and PDK was not an incentive therefore, and also like the -20mm which already came with rear LSD in my car so the facelift S-PASM or rear LSD option in the MK-II didn't either. Only the slight bump in HP buts there is nothing else that is significant and the 30HP is not enough. So guess it will wait until the 991 rolls out Smiley

I'm going to be in Spain (Salou) end of July. Can't wait to enjoy some quality time with the kids and wife. Unfortunately I will be driving an Audi Q5 2.0TDi instead of a Porsche 911 but I guess I shouldn't complaint.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos, I love seeing people getting together and sharing a hobby. It is a pity that most women don't seem to share this (car) passion.

Was your wife with you, Carlos ? Mine surely would have stayed at home.

Only 170HP version but still good for a rental, it will be very practical, great choice Smiley

My wife stays at home or makes her own plans that day generally, and I can understand why, on the route its unconfortable as a "copilot" Smiley and on the stops and luch its mostly car talk mainly Smiley it would be OK for a little while but not for an all day thing. She'd rather do something else that day, and I preffer it that way as well too, since I would not enjoy it as much knowing she may not be having a good time.

Great pictures Carlos thanks so much for posting. Reminds me of a summer I spent in Spain a couple years ago, I've been wanting to go back but haven't had the time

Driving and a wine-tasting session are not a good combination anyway.

Great photos as always, Carlos. Smiley

Is that marina in Vigo? Smiley Don't remember seeing it in your previous drive reports.

Fortunately the tour of the wine cellar was the last thing in the morning and the restaurant was only 5 mins away. But I couldn't agree more with you nevertheless, personally I may have a drink once in a long while myself, but if I'm driving that day, then my own rule is a strict 0.0 for me no matter the occasion.

Good memory! Smiley thats actually the marina of a town located in the fiord just up north of Vigo's fiord, its called Sanxenxo  Smiley

Drinking and driving do not mix. If plan to sample the local wines I have a non drinking co-pilot.

I'm sure you meant to write "non-drinking chauffeur", Nick. Smiley

Had you been sampling the local wines when you wrote your post? SmileySmiley
