    My 2011 GT3 Factory collection story (Lots of pics)

     Well folks what a week !

    My father and I set off to Stuttgart last Wednesday for a midday flight from Heathrow.

    We arrived in Stuttgart just after 18:00 and had a taxi transfer paid for by Porsche to the Maritim Hotel in the city centre.. It was a nice hotel and we had a lovely evening meal (Fish).

    As my factory collection slot was 08:30  the itinerary suggested leaving at 07:30 in the morning, as you can imagine i did not sleep at all on Thursday night !

    In the morning we went for breakfast at 06:30 in the morning, checked out and got our taxi transfer to the factory.

    We arrived at the factory at about 08:15 on a wet Stuttgart morning.

     After taking a few outside shots we decided to get out of the rain !

    Once we cleared security we entered the customer collection waiting lounge and had to wait for a short while whilst they put the factory export plates on my car. During the wait we chatted to a very nice lady who worked at the front desk in the collection centre. She had a great English accent as she lived in Atlanta for a while. Anyway, after talking to her she said that they usually conduct between 16 and 20 car handovers a day, today they had 18.

     At about 09:00 we got the call i have been waiting for (2 years worth of waiting if you include the date i put my LOI in for the car !)

     As we climbed the stairs my heart started to beat faster ! Then finally we turned the corner and their is was. This is my 7th Porsche, but i can honestly say, i got it right this time :)

     After the collection we went on the 10:00 factory tour. As usual no photos allowed. 

    Picked up some interesting info on the tour, including the fact that all Turbo and GT engines are still hot tested. 

    After the tour we had a lovely three course lunch in the Customer Collection restaurant , then onto the museum.
