Any news/rumors regarding the GT2 RS and the might be .2 GT3 RS? Heard some rumurs at my dealer today about a Frankfurt release of the GT2 RS, but the .2 GT3 RS is still to be confirmed.
And with the new 992 coming, will there be room for the .2 GT3 RS? Some state that it WILL come, but in a limited edition like the 4.0
I know a lot of you are much closer to the dogs head than me, here in the North Pole. For me, It's like talking to the dogs tail, so if anyone with better connection have any insight please share your knowledge and defrost my freezing state of mode....

The 992 won't show up until earliest 2019. We have 2017 now.

As with 997 GT2RS, the 991 version will be the Swan Song of the series.

The farmer:Hmmmm, I thought it was a 2018 release.. Tthanks RC, already much warmer....
2018 will be the year of the new Cayenne and the Macan facelift. Also, it seems that there will be a last special edition 991 model.

More gossip from a very reliable source:
apparently the VW board was giving the premise to "earn money" with this car. Therefore no limitation will be applied
Lars997:More gossip from a very reliable source:
- We will see a GT2 and a GT2 RS
- both cars will not be limited.
- GT2RS first year clients will be selected by the PAG

Cause the GT2RS is not a beta car like the 911R!
I wonder what the differences will be between GT2 and RS (aside from bigger rear wing and price)? Maybe GT2 has choice of manual gearbox?

I very much doubt there will be a GT2.
GT3 is the base for the Cup car, GT3RS is the base for GT3R and GT3RSR
With a .2 GT3, Cup car still has a base, GT2RS would be the base for the next GT3R and RSR if Motorsport decided to go turbo route.
Why would Porsche do a GT2? It will be redundant with with a 'hotter' more aggressive GT2RS anyway.
Where can Porsche slot in the GT2? HP-wise, a Turbo S is already at 580, GT2RS should be at 650. Would someone settle for 620? Price wise it would be the same thing, people that can afford a GT2 will no doubt be able to pay a tiny bit extra for the GT2RS.
Porsche simply left no room for a regular GT2.
