400 hp, 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and Quattro
I am thinking of replacing my Mini JCW with it in two years...
I just wish they would make a two door version.

The visual updates are minor, to say the least.
I´m wondering if the 2017 actually produces more power than the 2016 model.
Officially the 2016 produces 367 HP, but it seems very hard to find a car with less than 390 HP.
Most dynoed stock cars (no remapping, no cat fiddling) produce 400+ HP.
It´s obviously done that way for marketing reasons - not to cannibalize on more expensive models in the Audi program.
So perhaps they simply gave the engine a very slight tune-up to make sure the 2017 delivers 400+ HP.
As for 0-100 times, forget about the official 4.3 (2016) and 4.1 secs respectively.
V-box tests show that most 2016 models do it in 3.9-4.0 secs. Some even as low as 3.6.
The new 400 HP TTRS with 80 kg less is even more ridiculously fast.
@noone : Yes, it´s mindblowing that a "regular" hatchback can outperform a Ferrari 360 by appr 1 sec from 0-100.
As for driving pleasure and handling it gets more subjective :)
Dealer offered me a 367 hp RS3 Sportback for 55k EUR cash with only 7k km and full options, incl. extended warranty.
If I didn't have the Mini JCW right now, I would have taken this deal.
When the Mini goes, I think I am getting the new RS3 with 400 hp. Amazing little thing.

The whole concept of the Mini is screwed up these days. In fact they should probably call it "Maxi" now...

Did you compare the RS3 with the BMW M2? (I know RS3 is faster in a straight line and the M2 interior is crap and it's a coupe).

I think there is a totally new lighter engine block this year...

No. Mini Cooper Coupe JCW (latest model). Many customers made complaints, one reason Mini put the Pro on the market.

Never had the chance to really drive the M2 for an appropriate period of time, so I cannot really make a comparison. I love the M2 exterior though, this car looks soooo good. Not even sure you can compare both, the RS3 has AWD.
