There are two elementary things that make the difference, the rear axle obviously moved backwards and the front axle featuers a wider track. Apart from the handling benefits, this completely changes the stance of the car. The front fenders are bulged outwards more like on the 993 and feature less track difference between front and rear axle.
I also get the feeling that the windscreen is either further tilted or features a more arched shape in horizontal direction.
Someone on this forum already told that the main changes are on front lights and back lights (particulary on the front).
From the video (Car Magazine) it`s a bit more clear that the headlights will not be similiar to does on 997.
I guess maybe headlights between 997 and 918 spyder.
Right RC?
On the picture with the square front light I just was putting my hand in front of the left (round) lamp and the car looks quit good. I think something like this might not be that bad at all.
As the rear will have a very slim light bar, the front will have something reflecting the edgy design, so I dont think we are going to see our beloved round lights!

@Ron: I'm with you and I guess they will stay recognizable, but my guess it that they look different as today. So closest would be something like the Carrera GT, not round but not edgy either! But - definitive not the ugly eyes from that red picture
Just for context, here's a close-up of the Carrera GT from the front...

I hope you are right Lars .
