Funny thing: I haven't seen a single GLK since I arrived in Florida, does this car not exist over here in Florida ???
I saw tons of Bentleys, two Rolls Royce Corniche Cabriolets, many many Jaguars, a couple of 997 Cabs, tons of Cayenne but no GLK.
The GLK 350 4matic isn't actually bad at all, the engine is pretty strong and the car has a firm ride. I just don't like the exterior too much and the interior is also pretty lame but hey, it has Sirius Sat Radio, so at least I can enjoy some decent music while on the move.

SciFrog:
Once the luggage is taken care of, the GLK is probably perfect car/size for going around Miami with four people and all the shopping bags
Btw: where the heck is that slow economy everybody is talking about in the US ? I see more people buying stuff in shops than EVER, most hotels are full and the cars on the street aren't really smaller (or cheaper for a fact) either.
Did I miss something or is Miami just the wrong spot for feeling a weak economy ?

I have the same feeling as you, Miami has been booming this winter, two hours wait to eat at La Goulue in Bal Harbour! Malls packed, brand new cars on the streets, we had to try 5 times to eat in the fancy restaurant in the Biltmore... Trying to get discount on high end home stuffs has proven almost impossible... Building permits taking forever.
Even high end home sales seem to have resumed in my area, although 50% lower prices than the peak, (condos are a whole other story though because of the oversupply).
Dunno RC. Up in NY suburbs, the slowdown is more apparent, but look what happened to Wall Street industry...
Been to Coconut Grove RC? Might not be your cup of tea but we like it, different. Worth checking if you happen to be near Merrick Park shopping center.
Might want to check out the Zoo or Seaquarium. The national park on Key Biscane might be nice too (just giving you some different stufs to do in case you are bored with South Beach, Aventura mall or the beach).

Walking on water...looks weird...interesting phenomenon.
..thats exactly that what I'm need today...
Getting up this morning and just opened the eyes there was a horrible scenery to seen:
Heavy snow and temperatures on about 2 degrees
Just now only grey clouds and so far as I feel: very bad mood in the city.
Nevertheless: enjoy your holidays in this wonderful surroundings...
Btw: the X5M in grey wouldn't be my choice.
Imagine having weather like that all year long.... oh wait I do
The grey X5M looks ok but I'd rather black on the X5, i saw a X6M in Monte Carlo Blue yesterday at a dealership close to my house and t was amazing !!! i fell in love with it, too bad the price doesn't love me back

I've lived five years in the Caribean, but the weather I don't miss at all. Love the change of seasons!
I was just kidding but i know what you mean. I for one love the cold weather and the snow. I guess it depends on what you are used to and what you don't have in your own country, most people come here to get away from the cold, but during winter we are the ones who travel towards the cold.
Isn't today not the great X5M day for Christian?
Well, I just missing the pics and the first experiences.
Preventive I will give him way for his contribution

Hi, Christian,
I hope y're returned home in good health and you have got your X5M today
I returned yesterday in the morning, went to the office for an hour, picked up my mail and went to bed. Then, at around 3 pm, I picked up the X5 M at my dealer together with my kids.
I didn't have much time to drive the car, barely put 50 km on it but all I can say is that the criollo brown interior looks just amazing and everybody at my dealership was very surprised how good it looked because this was actually their first car with that interior.
I post more and better photos once I get over the jet lag but right now I'm sitting again in my office, doing some work and paying bills. Not fun but necessary.
So please excuse my not very enthusiastic post and the cell phone photos, I will make up for it once I get used again to German time...and German weather.

It looks great - congrat!
I suggest a quick blast in the autobahn to cure your jet-lag.

Whoopsy:
btw, did you order the black grill from the factory or did the dealer install it afterwards?
The dealer installed it afterwards, in my opinion it makes a dramatic change to the X5 front, even my wife likes it.
I wish I could tint the rear lights a little bit, the bright red just doesn't cut it for me but I think I saw an LED aftermarket solution somewhere, don't know about the quality though. I don't want to ruin the car's rear with some aftermarket stuff.
Thanks for the congrats, guys.
Right now, I'm really too tired to write up something good but I promise to deliver it as soon as possible, incl. some better photos.
I don't know how I'm going to manage it to drive slow the first 5000 (or at least 2000 ) km but it will be pure hell for me.
