indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Yes, indeed. Very fast for a limousine. The Panamera Turbo should be at least 5-7 seconds faster in the same hands (I know that Porsche says something about under 8 minutes but this is with a Porsche testdriver under optimum conditions).
Maybe interesting: the X6 M, a 2.3 tons SUV, is only 0.6 seconds slower than the M5 in Hockenheim Kleiner Ring. The 8:24 time on the Nordschleife may not sound impressive but this is due to the speed limitation at 250 kph. Without that, the X6 M would have been aprox. 3-4 seconds faster.
For comparison: the Boxster S (latest model) needs 8:18 min. for the Nordschleife.
