    Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

...from email that I received ten minutes ago:

"Automobili Lamborghini will be concentrating on the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera."

    In Geneva of course.

Few hints since I have all pics but, can not post them because of embargo...

    -lighter

-fastest Lambo on the Ring yet

    -last version of current Gallardo

And there is a rumour that it will be followed up before the end of the year by the LP570-2 SV

Hmmm... I thought they already released that version!

They better doublecheck in their departments! Don't need to embarrass themselves...!

The last one should be finally the "best" one.

    Re: Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

I'm with Kreso - the 570 SL is the last one.  Lambo have sold less than 100 Balboni's against the planned 250.  OK, its a bit overpriced but demand isn't there for the RWD car.

A lot of journos have raved about the Balboni but they aren't the target audience and drive home from the test track in their A4 TDi's. The actual audience with the money to buy a Lambo prefers AWD  Sad but true.

    Re: Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

I think it's more a case that the Balboni was launched onto the market at an incredibly unfortunate time and Lamborghini foolishly expected buyers to pay more for "less" with the RWD car. Had they priced it below the AWD 560-4 then sales would most likely have been better. I don't think the AWD version is exactly flying out of dealers showrooms either at present judging by the number that are currently for sale with virtually delivery miles.

That's also exactly what I've heard about sales at the Lamborghini dealership in South Kensington over the past few months.

NB: bank bonuses have been announced last week and, from what I've heard, these are some of the biggest bonuses for years. Basically, the first 6 months of 2009 were the best 2 quarters on record for making money.

I'm not buying more metal right now. I'm currently deciding where to invest in property overseas Smiley

    Agreed.

IMHO problem for Gallardo LP560-4 and LP550-2 is R8 V10. I drove all three and IMHO R8 V10 is by faar the best of three overall. Also, R8 V10 currently sits on second position on my current sportscars top list, sharing a place with 997.2 Turbo. 458 Italia is first.

As Sport Auto Supertest clearly pointed out R8 V10 is faster on the track then LP560-4 and marginally slower in straight line acceleration. Audi learned a lot from Gallardo development and R8 V10 is a better car.

LP570-4 SL will be faster, just... In autumn 2010 Audi will introduce R8 V10 GT-100kg lighter version with full 560ps. I already know that R8 V10 GT is faster car on both Hockenheim and Nordschleife then LP570-4 SL...

    ...and cheaper also.

Gallardo in all its current versions is good choice only for die hard Lambo fans.

I agree with you Kreso on the R8 after owning a couple of previous model Gallardos and the V8 R8. Audi have simply made a rod for Lamborghini's back with this car as it is so accomplished.

The year before was probably the best on record for losing it and they got bonuses for that too.

Somehow, all these different versions confuse me... You could also just order the GT2 Mk2 - which will kill them all (F458, 560, 570, R8V10) Smiley Honestly, Audi/Lambo has a big problem with all those "new" versions. Each offers a little bit of progress but still is not fast enough to set a new benchmark.

    Re: Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera

So, you really think that 997.2 GT2 will be faster then 458 Italia or Gallardo LP570-4 SL? As manual only?

IMHO ONLY(if manual only!) in hands of very skilled(and experienced) driver hands...

REAL fact is that in REAL world conditions 997.2 Turbo PDK is faster then 997.1 GT2.

REAL world conditions means 100km/h-200km/h on the dry autobahn and wet curvy road as well.

Do not get me wrong-997.1 GT2 is real speed monster-for thoso who likes it.

Of course, I am talking about a driver who knows how to drive the car Smiley In this case: no doubt, the GT2 will be fastest.
