    very close to the Panamera look. I like it...

     

    The interior of the new Cayenne is definetely one of the highlights, no doubt about it.

    3 years BMW X5 M and maybe a Cayenne Turbo S afterwards ? Smiley

    Right now, the X5 M was the better choice for me for various reasons.


    ..of course this might be an option.
    But for me it strongly depends on the economic climate and the puplic acceptance of the SUV'S in common and particularly Porsche SUV's  Smiley

    Yesterday, one of my longtime customers asked me what happened to the Cayenne because he hasn't seen it for a while. I told him that my lease expired (what else... Smiley) and that I'm driving the Mini Cooper S right now. You should have seen his face lighten up, telling me that he always wanted to tell me to get rid of the Cayenne but he was afraid I would misunderstand him (yeah, right...I could misunderstand THAT). I told him that I'm getting a BMW X5 instead because of the kids and his reaction was like "hell, no, not again a SUV". Luckily the discussion ended soon because I had more customers waiting but again this showed to me that people never seem to mind their own business. Smiley

    Btw: you should hear how each and every customer brags about that stupid DVD with swiss bank data the german IRS got offered for buying. All of them seem so happy that the "rich" are getting busted, I assume this is also a huge publicity stunt for the current government.

    I'm happy I ordered the X5 M but at the same time I'm sad that my chances for another Porsche Cayenne, even in the future, seem to be slim. I can't risk my family's future for a car, people are very sensitive about it right now and I highly doubt that it is going to change substantially in the near future. Smiley

    I wonder if all these critics of the Cayenne in your neighbourhood would change their attitude if they were actually able to afford one.

    I can't believe there is so much anger and envy against the rich in your neighbourhood.

    These people really ought to harden up and appreciate that there are some people out there who work hard and are rewarded with the finer things in life.

    I am still quite astonished about the people´s reaction in your part of Germany. I wouldn´t mix up the resentment against SUVs with an envy of rich people.

    Regarding that DVD with confidential data, better don´t get started. It is a utter shame how German politicians could get away with buying it.

    Regarding that DVD with confidential data, better don´t get started. It is a utter shame how German politicians could get away with buying it.

    The way the news about the Disk has been reported  is that the German public at large is in favour of a government's move to acquire the data. I don't know how accurately this public opinion has been measured but I find it very reasonable for a worker with his job in jeopardy to wish that tax evaders get caught and pay by whatever means. "The Cause blesses the Means" is a saying we use!

    I personally cannot connect a job position to someone´s evation to pay taxes but this, to me, is not center of the debate. Germany claims to be a constitutional state where in the past a lot of court ruling have been justified by that, such as this, so how can illegally acquired data be obtained and used to pursue tax exiles? It would have even been a different scenario if that data would´ve been provided anonymously.

    Other data was obtained a couple of years ago that lead to the media-savvy persecution of the Deutsche Post CEO (link).

    Both we have to suffer in ordinary SUV's with only a 550 hp.

    Egypt is a huge country. Why don't you put five 20 l fuel canisters in your trunk, drive around for one weekend, take a bunch of beautiful photos (X6 M at the Nile, X6 M at the pyramids, etc.) and come back, write a nice travel report with photos and I bet you'll alread have at least 1000 km more on your car.   We all would profit from that. Smiley

    great idea.....

    by the time i have accomplished that, the car will have added 2000 km AND look like its covered 300 000 kilometres..........and i do not want that. fortunately i live in a resort area that by egyptian standards is clean and uncrowded......

    luckily i had a business meeting today about 35 km south, so i am now at exactly 408 km......

    only 592 to go  and that is sticking to RC's advice....otherwise it would only be 92 km to go

    Absolutely with you Aldo .  Only , I would say  Porsche did it right with new Cayenne -  2 nice and adjustable rear seats with some padded / seat like middle for occasional situation of 3rd person in the rear .

     but not perfect as two seats :) - or do you more like to sit at the rear seats rather then on front seats. In my X6 there is no difference - you can sit in the rear as good as in the first row.

    that interior is ugly - it is far too busy with angles and contours all over the place. those centre vents are nut the way they protrude above the dash line - just way overboard and i hope the final is more mature
