I have a question that is a little off topic. I just received the February issue of F1 Racing magazine after not having a subscription for several years.
It seems to me that this is by far the thinnest issue I have ever seen. As soon as I picked it up I thought, "what the hell!" Anyone have an opinion?

Haven't seen F1 Racing for years, so I don't have an informed opinion, but I suppose the first question has to be: Is the mag now so thin because the volume of editorial content and articles has been disproportionately reduced, or is it just that the economic situation has resulted in a reduced volume of advertisements.
If the former, then you are entitled to feel cheated. If the latter, then it is no loss.
I do suspect though that a reduction in advertising revenue has also resulted in a reduction in the "useful" content.

Isn't it great that F1 is back again?!
It is
At 15:50:
Massa 1m11.772; Kobayashi 1m12.056; Hamilton 1m12.256; Rosberg 1m12.899; Barrichello 1m13.377; Kubica 1m13.659; Buemi 1m14.862
Massa did that lap in short stint, so he was probably quite light. Hamilton did 1:12.2 about an hour ago in 27 lap stint and most laps was under 1:13 in that stint.
Difference between empty and full tank of fuel is about 6 seconds.

I'm relying entirely on ou guys and the F1 site to get my info, they neve broadcast the practices here on cable, and im in the middle of getting satelite instaled, so untill then i cant watch the practices .
OT: am I the only one who finds it a bit ironic that Schimi wears a red helmet?
Feb 2, 2010 7:59:11 PM
Boy im getting excited! This is great you guys, keep the detailed info posting going!!!
Also i think new (NEW) points system is even better because it will create a little more incentive to get a position head in the 10 to 4th people range.
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Here's another one for you... www.f1technical.net/
I think that these tests are like pre-season friendlies in football. You cannot judge the final champion by these times.
BTW 25.000 people went to see Alonso's debut in Valencia on a weekday!
So many idle people there or perhaps it's a local holiday

It's not where you're going, it's how you get there that counts

It's even harder for us fans to take any information from these tests now that they have such huge fuel tanks. I'm just happy that we have some action.
The Alonso support is incredible. He will absolutely be looking to cement his place in the team by squashing any thoughts of him having to acclimate before he is fast. This could get very interesting as the season progresses.
Alonso is a very talented driver that needs the right environment to function properly.
Assuming that Ferrari deliver a championship car then a lot will depend on Massa's performance. If Massa starts winning races and presents internal competition I expect Alonso to feel threatened and this will destabilize him like it happened at McLaren. Let's see how Ferrari handle the #1 driver scenario if it comes to that.
For the time being he is the darling of the tifosi. A twice WC and a Latin driver in a Ferrari! Let's see if everything goes according to the script.
