I prefer the stock wheels.
The black ones look real agressive, too much if you ask me, but also, because it is so dark down there, you lose all the sculpted features of a thoughtfully designed wheel. Also, with such large wheel arches it's challenging to get the proportions just right; this is more of a problem with the stock wheels since they clearly show the boundaries (arch v. wheels).
A lighter shade might help but how about some colour / white accents such as the circumferential white line on Super Darius' white TT. It might be enough to just break it up a bit.
I'm facing a similar dilema. I just bought a Speed Yellow C2S with the Porsche Lobster wheels. I'm not crazy about these wheels and will eventually upgrade. In the mean time however, an interim and far cheaper solution would be to paint the wheels black... so that the design disapears a bit. I'm just not sure if it will disapear enough
