I was amazed about Audi´s design 2-3 years ago. Meantime I don´t like it anymore. They are all looking the same. The A7 has the ugliest back, the A8 isn´t much better and the R8 I never liked. No, Audi is not my taste.
The large front overhang looks very ungainly IMO. The rear is pleasant but not distinguished. It could be the rear of any ordinary hatchback from any ordinary manufacturer.
The Panamera is not readily beautiful but it has personality and unique presence.

I prefer the Panamera as well. I concur it looks ungainly on photos, but in real life this car has such presence.
The Audi is really nice, but also a little bit boring- too conservative for a Porsche.
A normal limousine profile doesn't suit Porsche IMHO, hell I think limousines are for 80 year olds!

The Panamera surely has a LOT of presence and this is exactly its problem here. I wonder what would happen if you drive a Panamera to university...

That Audi's rear reminds me of the Accord Crosstour
Then, maybe you like this one better ?!
The ugliest rear so far in my opinion, even worse than the Panamera rear.

In black it is not so ugly - but in light colors - very ugly!

All the new BMWs are so attractive except that one, I don't know what happened.
Maybe BMW thought that they need a counterpart to the Panamera ?!
Seriously: I don't know what happened but I saw the GT for the very first time last summer at Munich airport and I was shocked, at first I thought this is a Hyundai but then I recognized the brand. My son, a real car nut, refused to go with me to the car to look at it closer. "This thing is ugly, Daddy...". I fully agree. The interior is nice though, a lot of room and the front isn't too bad either. It looks even worse when you look at it from the side of the rear, horrible.
Look at this photo.

That is A7?
nop, thats the A5 Sportback. I like current Audi design, mainly because they are understated. but thats just me.
PS: this thread is rapidly becoming a pain to the eyes with all those weird suvs and that 5er GT.
Yes, things degenerate quickly
Slow In, Fast Out
You know, the 5GT's rear kinda of disappeared if the car is in black, looks not bad in person, just my opinion from seeing one in the showroom. Just like the Panamera, seeing it in real life is quite different than just 2D photos.
But still that's Aztek is butt ugly in photo or real life
The Audi has the look of a me-too sedan. The Panamera is a form-fit-function sports sedan. There are many 'pretty' cars out there - I do not like them, as their purpose is to look like cheap jewelry.

Whoopsy - you are totally right!
