I'm in too with the race. When I first talked to my dealer, he told me that my car arrives earliest end of March or beginning of April.
My first order confirmation had the 23rd March 2010 as an estimated delivery date.
I changed my order after two days, I added three additional options (6-DVD changer, 4-zone climate control and high beam assist) and when I checked my new order confirmation, the estimated delivery date was March 1st 2010. Weird.
The estimated delivery date seems to be calculated by the order system, my dealer had nothing to do with it.
My dealer told me that it usually takes maximum 9 weeks for a delivery (from time of ordering to delivery in Germany). He also told me that he had cases where it took only 6 weeks, sometimes 7-8 weeks.
Maybe I'm lucky...unless the bloody vessel my X5 M will be on sinks in a storm.
Let me see:
9 weeks - delivery date around February 25th 2010.
6 weeks - delivery date around February 4th 2010.
The race is on...
February 4th would be perfect since we're driving for a one week ski vacation in Austria mid of February 2010.
The dealer provides us with a X5 for this vacation if the X5 M didn't arrive yet, it is impossible to drive to that vacation spot without a SUV, the street leading there has an inclination of up to 18% (!!!). Now imagine the street is completely covered with snow. I almost couldn't make it with my Cayenne and I really had a good speed (aprox. 50-60 kph). If you drive much slower, you're not going to make it.
