CloseGuys, i just bought an 09 GTR from a friend of mine , it was a deal i couldnt refuse, car is like new, it has a cobb and 5zigen exhaust, and it has a problem in its transmission
, but i had a great deal.. i need your help with the gearbox, do you know a company that can overhaul the gearbox, or any blog or board where we can find useful info, or companies that sell parts?

My friend I am sorry to tell you (AFAIK) that you didn't just get a deal on that car. someone sold you a very expensive problem. there's a good chance that your "friend" is the one who cut a deal. sorry

kreso the new tranny is around 16.5k euro over here, even if i pay it, i still have the car much cheaper than its price, dont worry for me. but i am sure it can be overhauled, i want to do my homework before ordering a new one
Dimitri, I think that you can not re-build it. Price of replacement DCT is OK.
Here is VW example from my market-most DSG are just replaced if needed with new one. Re-build can be done ONLY in VW factory in Germany.
The debate raging over that incident Dimitri is how these scarily high repair costs are going to impact insurance premiums and affect residual values as potential buyers are scared off by high maintenance/repair costs when things go wrong. Your situation of being offered a car at a bargain price because of a transmission failure merelt reinforces this.
If you can get it fixed then it will give you a lot of fun I'm sure 
I had a tussle with one in my Scud a couple of months ago and I couldn't shake him. These things are very, very fast but a bit soul-less to drive I'm told once the speed novelty wears off.
isuk, insurance premiums are ok over hee, no prob with that. i will receive the new box soon. i just sold my scuderia, and the gtr will keep me busy until i receive my 458 in march 
, when the italia will be here, the gtr will go... i also have my m5 that i really love that i think i am keeping until the next m5 is released

Well in that case it should provide some fun tire kicking till you get the F458!! That changes things, i think this is actually a "cheap" way to fill till march... let us know how many times you will end up replacing the tranny 
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

haha thanks mike! actually i already found and bought a new tranny yesterday night on the net. the owner went on a hard drive in a mountain road and he ignored warnings of the overheated gearbox, where he did many launch controls. he didnt slow down and kept pushing. the car has 6000 miles. photos will come , car still in mecanix :)
warranty was denied because the car has COBB upgrade (that he didnt remove before going to workshop) and he used launch control

I remember seeing an upgrade on the internet for the gearbox to make it much harder to break. You might want to look into that as well with your new box. One thing is for sure, the GTR is quick! I raced one on the weekend and one of the event is a 800m sprint on a speed bowl. It beat the two 997 GT2s there...
