CloseThe new 5 series is actually a good example of how a manufacturer can build a pretty LARGE car but make it LOOK smaller. When I first saw the camouflaged 5 series live, I actually thought it is the new 3 series. Very impressive.
Keep in mind that the Panamera isn't much bigger.

Agree. I love looking at this car! Can't say the same about any other recent BMWs. I hope they don't ruin it with the new M5.

It is really unbelievable: the new 5 series is only slightly smaller than the Porsche Panamera but the 5 series looks really small, I almost confused it for a 3 series when I saw the camouflaged car the very first time.

Little by little I start to love this car. The only problem is that I seem to be unable to configure the car for less than 80.000euros. Which it's way too much for a 5 series.
It depends on which model you choose. It is also no secret that most official german BMW dealers are providing a high rebate on most models. I got 21% on my X5 M for example.
For Romania, I would get the 530d or the 528i, no need for the 550i.

And it's at least 100kg heavier than the last 5 series.
It's all steel in the front these days, you know. They abandoned the aluminium front structure design. It was so expensive to repair.

This Saturday, my local BMW dealer presents the new 5 series to customers. So yes, I suppose BMW is already shipping cars to dealers.

Are you absolutely sure you got the numbers right ? I haven't looked them up but I don't remember such a hefty weight addition. As far as I remember, the weight difference on the 550i is 95 kg only.
