New 2010 Carrera S - Kudos to Porsche of Fremont

I got delivery today at Porsche of Fremont of my ordered Carrera S. This is my second 911 purchased there. I consider their sales and service staff the best in the Bay Area. This car is a 2010 Carrera S, Carrara White, Brown Natural Leather, Sports Seats, PDK, LSD, Sports Chrono, Bluetooth and iPod Audio Interface. Rear center console, seat backs, accessory bin and gearshift surrounding all in natural leather.

Many congrats ! the color combo looks very inviting, classy, and comfortable to live with for a daily driver (If that's your plan).  Hope you enjoy every minute of it

Re: New 2010 Carrera S - Kudos to Porsche of Fremont

A very nicely optioned car. The combo looks great. Please post pics when there will be no more protection, specially of the inside.

But why did you miss on the sports exaust ? ( realy worth it to me as better sound, looks good in the flesh and you do not see the black stuff on the tips )

    CONGRATS Dias

Very nice color combo and optioned perfectly

If I were to buy a 997.2 Carrera S, I would have bought with the very same car + sport exhaust (as Gnill said) and GT2 bucket seats instead of Sport seats.

Enjoy it in good Health and please post more pictures of her when the PDI is done.

After my awful unpleasant -20 mm sport chassie experience with my 997.1, it is a great oppurtunity to have LSD with PASM.

Actually, LSD should be standart on this car. It is unbelieveable to have this kind of sports car with RWD but without having LSD and you are charged extra money for this.

Very nice colour scheme and good spec. Enjoy it!

Why did you pass PSE by?

Hey, for ten years we couldn't even order LSD in the USA (at any price).  So, things are slowly improving Smiley

The std exhaust is just fine. It is pathetic to hear an F-car driving in traffic at leisurely 30MPH wailing as if doing 100+MPH. Porsches have always been discrete and that is a good thing. It sounds quite well as is. :)

Re: New 2010 Carrera S - Kudos to Porsche of Fremont

I plan to post pics soon. I loved my 996 C4 but the 997 is a significant improvement while preserving the 911 core principles. I like the 9A1 engine a lot. It is happy revving and very linear. The PDK is a fantastic transmission and I am convinced that it requires a different approach to driving. It takes far more than a session or two with it to develop the driver tranny interface. I will post more on this after I drive it more. Carlos told me long ago that he thinks that his 997 is as planted, if not more, than his 996/C4. I do agree.

Congrat's on the new 911. Any regrets on getting rid of the 'vette, or is it too soon to tell?

The Vette is a great car. But at the end of the day it's not a 911... It may actually be a better track car. but aI always liked all-in-the-rear.

The sport chassie was too stiff, especially for where I live. Even on autobahn, if the roads are less than perfect the car used to bounce after 240 km/h.

My 997.1 was even stiffer than M3 CSL which was mainly made for track use.

Therefore, I was not happy with the car. With opting LSD that came wih sport chassie, I was expecting this much. After my purchase, I found a pdf of Porsche in which it says "sport chassie option is only for track use SmileySmiley "

So many people bashing the PDK at first, and now so many cars ordered with it...

Great car anyway, enjoy in good health. Looks lovely in white.

The difference in the newer cars (997.2) is that the -20mm sport chassis is with PASM which makes the ride more compliant than before.

Still though from my experience even now the PASM -20mm is only for perfect roads that exist in very few areas (if at all) within any given country.

As far as I know, you can have LSD either with sport PASM or normal PASM, now. Smiley

So it is no more related to sports chassie.

However, this time it is a cost option.

I have been a supporter of PDK since its intro over a year ago. PDK is an amazing tranny with many operating modes. Those modes require different operator 'interfaces' and have to be mastered to be used to perfection. I do not want to get into details and open up a thread of controversy, but PDk is a thing of beauty and performance. :)

SPASM (-20mm) comes with LSD. LSD can be ordered with regular PASM. Both cost the same. As I see it... the cost of the option is for the LSD parts, as the SPASM parts changes must have a trivial cost. LSD is well worth having.

My Porsche's will always be black.

Except maybe if I moved to AZ or LV, then maybe I'd give up 1st choice of color & go with something lighter.
