For some time, I've wondered just how different production costs are between the 987 and 997, and whether or not the highest-end 997 models cost all that much more to produce that the "regular" 997.
Profit margins are reputedly a lot higher with 997's than 987's. Draw your own conclusions
I assume that within the 987 range profits are also much higher on Cayman than Boxster as it is normally a lot cheaper to produce a tin-top than an equivalent soft top. Yet it's the Cayman that has the price premium.
