The "flying" CLR

This is a sister car to the M-B CLR that “flew” at the 1999 Le Mans 24hr. It looks like it should fly, doesn’t it?

wow yes it shows the speed. the car was going so fast that he kept flipping in the air, that's most much momentum it had! Truly incredible and horrible accident.

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Hasn't the Porsche GT1 had a similar incident in the USA?

I think it was either the 96 or 97 model.

Yes, it happened at Road Atlanta in the Petit Le Mans and it was a 98 GT1

Wow - cool to see this again after all those years. Its amazing how this cars have been flying. It was also the days when the Audi TT was flying because of the not existing rear spoiler.
